I couldn't be happier with the fact that Fleck finally got a goal. It's about time that he got all the credit for a goal and that the fans appreciated it also at the match also. It's about time he got what he deserved for his fantastic consistent displays he's been putting in recently.

Fucking love that little scottish man

Coutts is well overdue for a goal.

His first league goal will see him side-step a couple of tiring opponents, play a one-two with Billy, then scuff one into the corner from outside the box, whilst giving thanks for more third division goalkeeping.

You heard it here first.

Nah.

Last game of the season, 2 nil up, already promoted we get a Pen. Up steps Couttsy to Paneka it past the hapless 'keeper on the floor, before running to the kop and ripping off his shirt to reval a t shirt saying:

"alcoblade best get a back, sack and crack booked fella"

On nailed.

I'm fucking praying that he misses the pen. That or just make sure i'm not outside the town hall that day. :)

Quality goal from our little Scottish maestro BUT I have to say Clarke's was better in my opinion. The technique to curl that ball from distance without even controlling it first was simply sublime.

In a day where we have people moaning about things being put in correct threads and multiple threads started on one player, why wasn't this put in one of the other John Fleck threads? :D

Not one to diminish the win yesterday but based on his performance if I was the FA I'd be investigating any strange betting patterns a la Bruce Grobbelar!!!

What was he doing on Sharps goal??? He seemed to shepherd it out for a goal kick but it was 2 foot inside the post...

Poor positioning and not setting (balancing) himself properly.

Clarke's goal was definitely the best of the four and is probably the best goal we've scored this season. He basically passed it into the net from around 30 yards out.

Another thing I would like to point out about Clarke is that it was suggested on here a couple of weeks ago that he doesn't care because he was seen in town during one of our games. Looking at his celebration for both Fleck's and Sharp's goals on Sunday I think it pretty clear that he does care.

Totally agree mate on all counts. He was basically leading the celebrations for 3 of the goals, in that he was pulling the team together.
A know a fair few grunters and all of the reasonable ones keep saying what a good signing he will be. He was regarded as a bit lazy during his stint there but all of them are convinced that he really is a very good footballer. He certainly looks the business playing deeper.

My brother is a Wednesday season ticket holder and he always describes Leon Clarke as someone with PL/ Championship quality but with league 2 application. Said he always looks like he's not trying and can't be bothered half the time.

He's convinced he's wasted his career and should be higher thought of nationally than he is.

Hopefully Wilder will know how to motivate him and get him performing
because there's a real player in there.

I thought all our goals against Chesterfield could be viewed for what they were, all decent efforts that we should be proud of, but I'll go for Sharp's, not only was his header a textbook example of how to get your forehead on the ball, but Duffy's (it was Duffy wasn't it?) cross was weighted perfectly, with enough precision to avoid the defender and enable Bill to do what he does best.

Like Beagrie said in his analysis, the ball in from Duffy wasn't a cross, it was a perfectly weighted pass - picked Sharp out beautifully.

I thought the same thing ILTRM

Basham's sending off at Scunny was a blessing in disguise, gave Fleck a run of games, he's formed a brilliant partnership with Coutts and we haven't looked back since. If it wasn't for that we could still have Basham in centre mid still, whilst I rate him, Fleck is different gravy compared to him in the middle of the park

Agree Stretch. Clarkes goal was a thing of beauty. Not about power but precision. Started just outside the post and ended just inside it. Perfection.

He put some right curl on it, like crown green bowling.

Billy was like a ninja. It was as if neither the keeper nor the defender knew he was there until he popped up and headed it in. Great delivery though from Duffy.

Freemans goal was my favourite ,good cross ,but guts ,determination and desire to get on the end of it ,and the goal we needed at that point. Loved it.
