Fleck called up.

He came back out of sorts last time he called up.

After the Everton game on Sky Charlie Nicholas gave him a great review. Said something like (i've forgotten the exact words so making them up) - I remember him from back in the day in Glasgow where I thought he was a show pony. Now he looks like the complete team player.
I knew he'd get called up after that.

Scotland manager Steve Clarke was at the Lane on saturday.

McBurnie is in too

If he doesn't get picked after Saturday he may as well decide which of the Irelands he'd rather play for and find an ancestor that'll justify it.

Hopefully they don't train the footballing ability out of him like they did last time.

I would understand Fleck getting overlooked for so long if Scotland weren't so utterly gash. Maybe they're too similar but Fleck and McGinn sounds like as good a combination as they could expect to see for a long time.

Given he's a Protestant I'd think the north would be most likely!

You forgot Scotland's number 1 player of his generation Barry Banana.

Not been in the squad for almost a year now

He would have been called up in CLark’s first one but was getting married. Fleck phoned him to explain why he couldnae play. A big thing was made of that up here.

Also, if I remember right he was injured last time round.

Got a bit confused by the thread title tbh.

Fleck called up

Me: thought he was called John

Soz

Well done Flecky. He must have seriously impressed in training to go straight in the team.

He's been pretty effective at breaking up Russian attacks so far.

It's been an eye-bleeding 45 minutes though.

Absolutely horrendous viewing.

Andy Robertson won the Champions League a few months ago, yet when he plays for Scotland he looks like he'd struggle to get in to an Isthmian league team at times.

Fleck has been the one effective player so far, though he's being underutilised just protecting the defence, needs to be allowed to get further up a bit.

Looks like Scotland have given him a "protect the back 4" role which is limiting his influence on the game but he has been playing it in a disciplined way.

On another note - Scotland fans who slagged McBurnie off becareful what you wish for, because Ollie Burke up front looks like a fraud of a footballer.

Played out of position, to be fair--and hooked at half time.
