McBurnie looks a really poor signing tbh.

Ran himself to a standstill in our first away Premier League win since 2006.

If he scores ten this season and we stay up then his fee is a no brainer. Poor signing ? Good grief.

I thought someone might reply to this effect, but good strikers make something happen off scraps. He didn’t really give us anything. For me, it was another bad performance. He’s not making enough of a nuisance of himself and defenders are managing him pretty easily. I’m waiting to see what else he can do, I’m really willing him on to be a success. But so far, he’s struggled.

You've got to be kidding. To make something happen off scraps the ball has to land within a reasonable distance from you. He's our joint leading scorer by the way after o.g. The solution, as suggested earlier, is Freeman for Fleck which is a shame as Fleck was showing glimpses of his old self against Soton.

That was a great defensive display.A clean sheet at their ground and they threw every weapon they had at that wall.
They were so frustrated that they went all out with 6 attackers and still came up goalless.
Before the match started fans were saying a draw would be a great result at a very difficult ground to get anything other than a loss.
Instead an 0-2 clean sheet and some are still moaning.

Surprised McGolddrick's name has not been mentioned. Yes, he misses chances but his hold up play and general linking with the midfield is superb and I feel we would've had much more possession and goal threat if he were on the pitch.

Obviously I'm thrilled with the result but we got lucky getting 2 goals out of the chances (or lack thereof) we created.

I'm over the moon with the result but I don't see how you can call that flawless. For the entire first half we were everything we laughed at other teams for thinking we were going to be: we hit it long, we didn't hold any possession, we were hopeful, we were a bit dirty.

Weirdly, I think that's our worst performance and best result so far.

That was a really good corner routine btw. We must have spotted something in the way they defend corners. Pickford gets tangled up in Blades and if Mina misses that, McBurnie has a tap in.

To be fair he has a point today, you could hardly call it sophisticated. But again who cares, we won.

What’s sophisticated though?

We were tactically better than Everton. They changed their system at least once, pouring attackers on and still they couldn’t break down our extremely well organised defensive line.

We didn’t look to hold possession and we allowed Everton just enough room, but not too much

We brought on players to enhance our system.

Mousse for Robinson gave us a player that could break fast, but also hold the ball up, brilliantly at times

Jags for Norwood, shifted Bash into midfield to improve the defensive play.

Osborn for McB again allowed us to sit in front of Everton and frustrate them

The sophistication dig seems an odd comment. Sophisticated in our planning for sure. And in execution we were fantastic.

I’m sure when we look at the game in more detail we will have done many things that so many teams fail to do at Everton, cut out their wing play.

Why would we need to be more sophisticated than that?

I'm judging him on what I've seen from him so far, and so far he doesn't look an improvement on what we already had. Particularly considering what we paid for him.

The number of players Blades have incorrectly written off in the last few seasons alone and still we do it. Amazing.

If you'd have listened to the Chris Wilder interview you would know McBurnie injured himself in the warm up and was under intensive treatment before the game but still chose to play for a hour when he could have sat on his arse, Wilder was very happy with his efforts and commitment to the cause.

We could have been better in our play with the ball in general, but our play when Everton had the ball was excellent, we were disciplined, worked hard and concentrated while they threw everything apart from the kitchen sink at us. We’re a team and people are starting to respect us in this division.

Lunny’s work before ‘that pass’ was good too.
