Looking forward to observing today’s scores evolve, safe in the knowledge that last night’s win means it is a good weekend, I looked at the fixtures to see which games are of interest, and was surprised to see that Wednesday are at home to Fleetwood. So was our match against Hull moved by SYP, or solely for TV? In the days where one man prepared the season’s fixtures on pen and paper, the 2 clubs in Sheffield, Manchester, Liverpool, etc., never played league games at home on the same day. With all the computing power available today, how does this happen nowadays? And more importantly, this afternoon in Sheffield we could have had hordes invading from East coast Hull and West coast Fleetwood - the city centre would have been the scene of a re-enactment of the Cod Wars😂 Fish-based mayhem.

Think us & Wendy have an agreement - prob enforced by the coppers - that if we’re both drawn at home on the same day, we take it in turns to move the fixture to Friday or Sunday.
Or summat.

Point taken, but hordes from Fleetwood.... Unless they were bringing a sackload of cockles with them each one sporting mini Fleetwood scarves, then it's a push to think that the entire town would have turned out to go to the home of 🐷s (even if its their cup final obviously...😴).

I understand it's a SYP issue that's been in place for years, probably decades.

United and Wednesday have an agreement that when ever there's a fixture clash
then each club takes it in turns to move their fixture to either the Friday night or Sunday afternoon.
