Looking forward to observing today’s scores evolve, safe in the knowledge that last night’s win means it is a good weekend, I looked at the fixtures to see which games are of interest, and was surprised to see that Wednesday are at home to Fleetwood. So was our match against Hull moved by SYP, or solely for TV? In the days where one man prepared the season’s fixtures on pen and paper, the 2 clubs in Sheffield, Manchester, Liverpool, etc., never played league games at home on the same day. With all the computing power available today, how does this happen nowadays? And more importantly, this afternoon in Sheffield we could have had hordes invading from East coast Hull and West coast Fleetwood - the city centre would have been the scene of a re-enactment of the Cod Wars
Fish-based mayhem.
