Good idea.
I'll tell her I'm playing golf, leave the house early and come back when she's left after never playing the stupid fucking game😉

Or take it up... 4 hour rounds. Gets you out for a good period of time. I do it to get away from them both (I have a daughter). Like my peace and quiet.

So every time we're on TV we get another £1.25million about the same as say a Championship side gets for competing all season. Any Championship side, I'm not just saying that because Wednesday are championship but they are.

Only if we are on more than 10 times. Get set fee for 10 then get £1.25 mill per extra game i think

For once I’m happy with the changes! Would’ve missed the Palace game as I’m travelling back from a holiday on the Saturday.

Weirdly, and I know this is something I should probably have just kept to myself, I'm happy with the Crystal Palace game being moved because it means I won't be able to go!

I'd already booked a short weekend in the UK to stay in Derbyshire and once the fixture list came out, it was a hard sell to the wife to convince her that the only full day we have in the beautiful peak district should actually be spent at (the for me equally beautiful) Downtown Bramall Lane. Plus it saves me having to be arsed to try and get tickets.

Should I be ashamed?

Weird how the rage is against Sky, one of the companies that's giving us millions to buy Freeman etc, and not BT, one of the other companies that's giving us millions to buy Freeman etc. They've moved one each you know

Sky have moved the one that affects me. Going on holiday 18th August for two weeks. Therefore out of the meagre ration of 19 home games on my ST I miss the first two, the first one being special. Twats.

Very much so. This should have been sorted a while back. You should have just told the dear 'were off ta Lane love, that Satday....session on ale befoarhand....' No if's no butts. No messing your good lady about, as she deserves better than that.

Start at 11.00. At a steady rate of three pints per hour and assuming you’re drinking no more than half an hour from the Lane it’s a minimum of seven, then bang a couple of shorts ‘for the road’.

It teks thee 20 minutes to sup a pint o beer !! They ought to 'eve thee up for loitering

I'd love to, but since the promotion I've been suffering from delusions of grandeur. No alcohol before 1pm, and I'm fully expecting the Kop bar to sell Pimms and Lemonade with a slice of cucumber. I've even been practising drinking from vessels that contain less than a pint, and extending my pinky down the glass to look sophisticated.

What's " Pimms" ? Not one of them fancy boy southern drinks is it ?

Missing the Palace game as I’ve got to go to a christening on the Sunday :mad::mad:

SKY TV IS F&£KING SH*T

i was pretty happy with that & i was expecting much worse. if anything championship was worse last 4 months we barely played at 3 on Saturday

Brilliant news.

Club Championship day at Hallamshire on the 17th August ... 36 holes. Now I can play!

18 hole Club Championship on the Sunday. 8am tee off. Done by 12 noon. Then down to BDTBL.

The perfect weekend :D

Get a cab watch the game on BT app until you arrive at the Lane.... so so easy
Nah that’s really thinking outside the box.....yeah. Catch a cab from Donny, watch part of a game on mi phone until I reach the ground, bump into bus stop after being dropped off by cab cos I’m watching game on mi phone. Intut ground late, no pint before kick off, watch DemBlades put ‘pool tut sword then at full time catch a cab back to Donny to pick mi car up! Thanks for the help and I can see you are trying.......really trying!;)😂

but... how is one supposed to consume copious amounts of alcohol by 2pm on a Sunday afternoon?

It used to be 12 until 2pm on Sunday dinner. If you wanted ten pints you had ten pints.

Bloody kids today, fruit fucking cider and trendy gins flavoured with anything that hides the fact it's shit. You'd have loved the Barleycorn you would.....

I have my routine. I like to rock up at a pub about 12:30 and sample every single real ale they have. I usually sample most of them at least twice, it helps if you stroke your chin a lot and loudly announce "I'M NOT SURE I LIKE THAT. IT'S A LITTLE TOO HOPPY FOR MY PALATE" (a notepad also helps keep the ruse up). I like to consume 1-2 pints of free samples at least. That probably takes about half an hour. Then order the cheapest shittiest larger they have (Carling probably).

Then, I wait it out a bit, and when a different member of staff is serving (and it's a bit busier), I like to order samples of every real ale again. TBH, I'm usually skint by then, so just ask for tap water rather than a lager. Then I wait a bit again (by now the place is fucking packed, so nobody is keeping score any more), so I just circle around the staff asking for free samples of the real ales.

When it gets really busy, just for shits and giggles, I'll order drinks one at a time. "Just a coke".. "actually give me a lemonade too" .. "can I try a sample of the Wizards Catheter please?", "nah don't like it, just a tap water for me" ... "a packet of Pipers cheese and onion" ... "another coke".... "yeah I do have one more order, a pint of Guinness Please" .. "anything else? I'm glad you asked, another pint of Guinness please" (I find bar staff love it when you order Guinness last).

You know when you arrive at the pub >2pm on a Saturday and it's 20 deep at the bar? It's only busy because I'm taking the piss.
