Great news on them both, Norwood is a class above, and Sharp looks fitter than he has ever been for us, and 100% deserves this after his displays in the couple of months before lockdown.

Bash and Didzy out of contract in a year.

We’ll surely be extending both if today’s announcements are an indication – regardless of age, we’ll be keeping the core that are contributing for the foreseeable. Which alongside strengthening the rest of the squad with younger players makes complete sense in my mind.

Should be a 2/3 year deal for Basham and a 5 years deal for Egan pretty soonish imo. As well as whatever the fuck is happening with lundstram.

Come on Lunny just stick a £15m buy out in the contract if somebody is willing to pay big wages they'll pay that if not you're safe with the Blades.
Don't want to see another class act fade to nothing.

great news, especially Norwood, who is a key man.

Henderson, Basham and Lundstram are the regular matchday players not tied down to longer contracts.

Interesting transfer window ahead - what do we add to this squad to keep marching forward

Surely Eagan is the one to sort, as previously mentioned he’s in discussions. Vital long term signing and future captain.

You are right he is a big player for us a major cog in our great defence.Best defence I have seen for a Blades team and i can go back to the early 60s,Do not want it changing.Goal scoring is our only problem but I am sure Chris knows that more than anybody.

He has already got a fairly long term deal in place but it needs updating to reflect his current status.

Why would he do that without us giving him a huge pay rise anyway? What works out better for both Lunny and the buying club - signing on 50k/week for 4 years with a 15m fee, or signing for 100k/week for 4 years on a free transfer?

He isn't going anywhere for a season without us receiving a transfer fee, so I can't see a club coughing up big wages and a fee so it's 21-22 he's looking at.
Meantime current wages for another season. He has to maintain form, he has to know even at his current form he will get better wages elsewhere. He could get injured.
Sign on, get a better contract and have the option of a (cheap) out if he gets a better offer. He isn't going to command 100k week, he'll only get 50k week if it's a reckless club because he isn't going to a Big 6 club (the ones with the money), makes sense to me, security and the option to leave if somebody wants to pay him more money.
