It may be out of date next week or whenever Norwood signs. It might be inaccurate at this very minute. But here it is. I’ve added the source for each expiry claim.

Henderson and Norwood are the most concerning of the players in red/yellow from my perspective.

11 of the 32 are out of contract this year (assuming they take up the option on Lundstram, which Wilder says they will). Of those 11, only 4 have seen much matchday involvement, so perhaps this will be a quieter summer than normal.

7 others out of contract next year with 5 of them being matchday picks for most of this season.

As always, it'll be fascinating to see how CW/AK approach it

We have some good balance here I think. Those expiring are in areas we would naturally we looking to ratchet up our squad strength ahead of next season.

Most sources are putting him down as Summer 2020 and he is in the group of players referred to as 'needing to negotiate new deals'.

Yep, that’s why I put the source for Clarke’s 2020 expiry. I’ve seen nothing suggesting otherwise – and hadn’t heard that suggested till now. Where did you see it?

Jagielka might have an option. In fact plenty of others probably have options that haven’t been made public. The press release said an “initial” 1 year deal that would hint at that, but I’ve not seen it spoken of by Wilder/Jagielka. What I have heard is the suggestion he might be moved into a coaching role, which is what I took to mean “initial 1 year deal”, suggesting an extension under different terms.

Quite right re: Heneghan. In my defence, I forgot he existed.

If all loanees get claimed after june 30 by their clubs, and the players with expiring contracts decline to play / don't wanna sign a new contract, we are in a pretty bad spot. Hopefully it's not gonna turn out like that (Didn't Man U already ensured we could get Hendo until the end of this season?) but it's something to keep in mind and a slight concern for me.

I suspect that any "extensions" will largely be in the hands of Wilder not the players.

I think spending a big chunk of his first year budget paying Dean Hammond's wages has left a lasting impression

It may just be to pull in Retsos and a striker which i'd be happy with. Whichever way you look at our season (really there's only one way to look at it), we need more goals!

Wilder said I think when they signed that there are options already agreed. That’s different to say Norwood’s loan last season when the permanent deal had already been agreed and contract signed. I’m sure we’ll make both loans permanent if Wilder wants to keep them (and they want to stay). But equally it’s been a while since we agreed the loans, a lot’s happened financially, and other targets might have become available in both positions.

So Ball_Sup (Phil) any help on a full run down of where we are at would be helpful. Seen a few such as Belahoun, Neal, Brunt, Gaxha, Capello, Williams got pro deals I think recently? No idea on likes of York, Boyes, Broadbent etc though so may need assistance - who is basically out of contract in terms of the young pro deals (some 1 year and some 2 I think) or scholarships being up?

Deadbat Sorry. I can kill that request immediately. I've never understood the different deals that Academy lads are on. It's not on my radar, and I'll be of no help to you whatsoever. Brutal, but honest.

My understanding of the current situation:

• Current loan deals run to June 30. Without an extension, the loans end then.
• To extend these to the new season end requires agreement of both clubs and the player concerned.
• Besic hasn’t been seen in the training vids at the Lane, which coincided with the Liverpool Echo suggesting get was returning means some are assuming his return has already happened. Neither club has commented though, and a piece from Richard Sutcliffe yesterday suggested we were still looking to extend it

Appreciate your honesty - I literally have very little ideas- some seem to have been around for 2 or 3 years (York/Graham/Broadhurst/Boyes/Mallon/Eastwood - know some are on pro deals and all various trialists we signed or from football talent academies seem to be on varying deals - some a year, some as much as 3 years according the reliable old internet. Just wondered who might have been or being released now the u18/23 things have been canned as they must have been told. Anyone else help?
