First half to us, second half to them...

We were by far the better team in the 1st half...............until 10 mins before the break when Sheffield United Charity FC decided to gift them an equaliser. We are almost a very good side but we just have to stop giving away so many soft goals.

For all our good first half play we didn't really trouble the keeper due to our weekly problem of crap crossing and overplaying. Albion deserved the win and were probably the best team to come to the lane this season.

I thought we were excellent for 40 minutes , some lovely football & they could not handle our passing & movement, but once again we could not make it pay when we were on top , & yet again a stupid unforced error gifted them a goal with their first real chance & the game turned at that moment. We never put anything together again & they got stronger , it was inevitable that they would get another & unfortunately we just did not have enough quality or belief to threaten to get back into it .At the end the glaring difference in quality between the sides was worrying , they made it look all too easy.

We have to work extremely hard for a goal. Then we gift them a goal. From then on we are seemingly hoping for a draw.
I’m happy watching us play, and realise that we are not quite promotion material. C’est la vie

We were the better side for half an hour.

But as soon as they got a foothold they were too good for us. No complaints over the result from me the best side won, but so they should with that squad, they should be top of the League.

Honest graft and commitment can only take us so far, but quality will always come through in the end

Well played WBA

Their second goal - the goal scorer (was it Gibbs?) still had a lot to do. Kept his head and buried it with a superb finish.

Billy gets a chance minutes later, snatches at it and it ends up in the kop.

We don't have that mental capacity to finish off chances. All our good play is pointless if we continue to see chances wasted.

Its happened far too often this season to be just a one-off.

Big pattern that isn't no longer a shock:

1. We have great spells of dominance but don't know how to convert it into a match winning performance
2. We are shit at the back and always look like conceding

Good football is a term used too loosely at Bramall Lane due to us either being shit or having a hoofball merchant in charge

Good football has fans shouting and cheering, it creates chances, it leads to goals and doesn't look like 11 players running about like madmen with no idea what they're doing other than looking busy
