It may sound dramatic, but we are finished as a so called big club, and to be frank, as a club in general if we don't have new ownership.

We are now officially a third tier club, well and truly solidified in the third tier, with a third tier squad, third tier ownership and a third tier manager. The only thing we have going for us is our stadium and fan base, and that will halve next year.

The financial gap between us and the top half of the championship is now massive, and will get even bigger next year with the money from the Premier League trickling down. Even if we do scrape up in the next few years then we'd be in a relegation scrap unless serious investment was put in.

The mismanagement of the club from board room level over the past 4 years has ruined us.

To rub salt into the wounds, the pigs will go up this year and reap the benefits of the new Premier League TV deal. Whilst we will be stuck down here, with about 10 players and a awful manager.

The only route out is if we have a new owner, and that isn't going to happen any time soon.

I agree, without substantial investment, we'll continue treading water. And this 50% youngsters idea (policy?) that keeps on being drip fed in interviews is ominous.

Lee Johnson said something similar about the growing gap between L1, Championship and Premiership earlier

However, I think Adkins has to take much of the blame for this season's shambles. He's had money to spend, and has spent it fairly badly. In arguably a stronger division last season, this squad (plus Murphy) was always up there.

It wouldn't be so bad if there were clear signs what he was trying to do. Some kind of bold plan that sooner or later would start to click. As it is performances just seem to be getting consistently worse.

Agree with the OP and was going to post something similar myself.

We've gone backwards under the stewardship of the clueless, bumbling buffoons.

We're worse than when they arrived.

The squad's worse because they've anyone left that resembles talent.

The structure behind the scenes is worse because everyone keeps quitting or being poached and we don't replace them as part of the cost cutting.

Our finances are worse and all they do is blame Nigel Clough.

The only thing that's held up are the crowd numbers but I don't see that lasted and I've never known such large sections of our fan base so pissed off.

These people are killing our football club And they're not even the slightest bit bothered. We're so far down on their list of priorities, I doubt we make the first page.

These charlatans must leave if we're ever to be successful again. The only way from here with these people in charge is downwards.

We've not been a "BIG" club for years.

We're a very ordinary, established L1 club and should we ever get promotion, we'll be exactly the same in that Division.

We now have owners, not an owner, the sooner that changes, the better.

We're a League 1 club with a large fanbase, a large stadium and Academy which we can;t afford to maintain. End of. We're not a big club.

I think we need to ditch the idea of hoping for a knight in shining armour to invest a fuck load into the club for no return.

Set up a Supporters Trust, purchase a percentage of the club and give the boardroom some sort of accountability for its decisions.

Some might call it unrealistic, but I would say it's far more workable than the other option.

It's true ...

....and there is absolutely no chance of it happening.

McCabe values his entire stake at £50m. He won't budge for a penny less.

I think we are finished in terms of being what we have been for the majority of our existence. That being a lower top flight, challenging 2nd tier club. I really don't see how we are going to get back to those days with the way the game is going. McCabe, whether you think he's been unlucky or is the devil in disguise, has presided over the destruction of what was Sheffield United.

The Wednesday thing just means the crowds will get lower and lower as the years go by. Seeing as the fans are the only thing we have to be proud about then there really doesn't seem any future. It's a disgrace what has happened to this club. A few millionaires have destroyed a club that has been passed along from generation to generation for over a century. Something which has meant so much to so many people throughout the years.

The worst thing is they don't seem to realise or care what they have done

Well I'm doing my bit to help stem the flow of money - I've just finished with Sky! I now feel clean!

When was there last a communication from Kevin McCabe? Nowt even from Jim on Twitter since that thing on the JTW 2 weeks ago. Not good, don't think the manager should be taking all the flak on his own.

Jim seems to have become fed up of being a shield for the people who are actually causing the problems. Can't blame him. McCabe will probably use Adkins as his shield now by leaving him out to dry

No I don't blame Jim either for that, he is the spokesman for one half of the ownership team but was taking the flak for it all on FB and Twitter. Him and Adkins taking all the shit.
