Could Leicester play anyone and not get fined?

A competition that says "You can give your young players valuable experience.......as long as your club is in the top two divisions.
If not then you'd better cough up, you fucking peasants".

This piece of shit Harvey needs removing from any position of responsibility in the game, the prick.

Really endearing this competition to everybody aren't they? Fucking idiots.

We played 3 starters and were without another 2 due to internationals. In a game that meant nothing to anybody. What a complete joke.

Yep, two players out for national youth teams. Which is even more stupid when you think that the competition is now supposed to benefit youth players...

You couldn't make this shit up, Wonder if it was a money spinner all along??????????

I feel really upset for Luton and Portsmouth
ok 15 k is peanuts in football today but its the principle of the thing
1st offence , in a meaningless competition that has one rule for some clubs and different rules for the under 23 teams
utter farce

Only a short thread so far but so many things have been pointed out that are wrong that you don't even know where to start.

They reformat the competition to benefit bigger clubs and their youngsters. They fine the smaller clubs, many of which could really do without these fines, for trying to develop their own younger players. Why should they be able to prevent clubs from using their squads?

They clearly don't look into any circumstances around team selections, instead preferring the typically robotic blanket approach that ensures none of them need to use their tiny brains or actually do anything.

They need to make their minds up - is it to be a development competition or one that has to be taken seriously if you don't want to be fined?

Nothing they do is going to turn it into a competition of any prestige. So they'd be best off going down the development route, but actually being consistent and showing no favouritism. Maybe then it would have a shred of credibility.

The thing I find offensive is that it's OK for them to assume that the U/23 sides of the selected clubs is good enough to compete with first team players of the lower 2 leagues....and also in our case better than our very own kids!

Would be interested to see how our kids measure up against these sides because in recent years we have been competing with the likes of Arsenal, Man U etc.

Exactly right....it should be down to individual clubs as to whether they want to win something. Low level yes...but still a trophy. We chose not.
Perhaps add some prestige to it.....europa league qualifying spot for instance?

I hope they all collectively tell the Football League to shove their fines up their arse along with this shambles of a competition.

And whoever at Sheffield United FC voted in favour of this bag of wank, shame on you.

Hope they all refuse to play the next round of fixtures!

Or...if we do pay the fine, it is made up of plastic fivers that Mr Wilder has wiped his arse with in an envelope addressed to Mr Shaun Harvey personally.

I've proper got mardies on as I've got migraine, but getting angry at that prick is making me feel a bit more cheerful.

I wasn't even aware that the "no kids" rule existed. Did they just change it on the fly or was it vaguely worded to begin with?
There's no specific rule (as far as I'm aware) that says the EFL teams aren't allowed to play the kids, just that they must play 5 first team players*.

*Either 5 that started the previous game, 5 that will start the next game, or the 5 players who have made the most appearances for the club.

That we did I believe.

Wankpots.

Shaun Harvey, full weight cock womble that is still trying to say it's to help develop youth players.

I have a special level of hatred set aside for the cunt Scudamore but this pricks managed to wangle himself a free ticket in.

There has to be some way to let them know how we feel.

So we will possibly have lost money now over this tinpot bullshit, develop the big boys young stars and pay for the privelige...
The FA, what a bunch of fucking losers, just about to appoint Southgate, another fucking loser...

Erm - it was the EFL not the FA

So how much would we have been fined if we used a real understrength lineup, i.e. one that didn't win anyway?

And we were already out of the bloody competition at that stage anyway.

They're getting dogs abuse on Twitter, which is amusing.
