Was atrocious today
Losing is not the painful thing
But throwing in the towel and failing miserably to compete is a stackable offence
Where's the fight we showed v Blackburn in the cup gone. We never had a lot of quality .but succeeded due to desire determination and work ethic
Getting in oppositions faces
Ignition on the fire in our bellies has packed up
Imagine that’s the plan: let’s hope this bunch of small, slow, unfit players somehow gel into a cohesive unit. Nothing to suggest it might happen, and nothing being shown by coaching team that they have a plan to make it happen, but let’s cross our fingers and hope it does anyway.Won't make any costly changes at the moment, the board will want to hope the team gels more over the months to make us competitive enough to get us promoted from the championship again
Absolutely bang onI think he’s being judged on how many times he can play Norwood and Souza together before realising it’s not working.
My guess is he’ll do it all season if he can, how he can’t see it’s not working is beyond baffling.
It's enough for Luton. They are doing the hard work with limited quality. It's how we always flourish as we are poverty stricken in prem terms. No bite in our closing down liking aggression for us is unacceptableBut this “tactic” if you can call it that isn’t ever going to work again…VAR, diving opponents and quality players f other players to keep the ball means it’s doomed to fail.
Granted we should t be getting over run as we are, but we need proper scouting, talent, pace and athleticism at all levels of the club, and we just do t have anywhere near enough of it.
Any potential top talent at youth level we sell before they push the first team, current squad is slow, tired, weak, and lacking out and out ability with the ball. Only two players we had with that ability we sold!
It's November and unbelievably I think we need to write bugger it on this season, we have a few options, we could stick with hecky this season but I do think the prince will will get shut at the end of the season but that means a new man would come in and start changing the style of play etc and he would just have pre season to get that tinkering right ready to hit the ground running, the other option, and I believe the right option is to change now and let the new man start changing stuff, that might mean a lot more losses, but we're expecting those regardless, but at least the players will know what the drill is next season.
We don't want a team that's rock bottom on confidence and then having to learn a new way of playing
Sort of agree, but why 'should' that gulf be narrowed by effort and tactics?I completely understand that we don't have any premier league standard players, there's one or two that have the ability to achieve that standard ( if they play with better players and are properly coached) but that gulf in quality could and should be narrowed with effort, tactics and a plan, none of these things have been instilled in the players and for that reason, sadly I think the manager should go
When we beat Arsenal at home in 06/07 I remember Wenger commenting that a team can lift their peformance levels like that two or three times a season. On the night we were fabulous, battling, fighting, outworking them, brilliant atmosphere, Nade looked a world beater, etc. But it's impossible to put in maximum performances every week and in the long run there needs to be more about your game than just fighting qualities. But this “tactic” if you can call it that isn’t ever going to work again…VAR, diving opponents and quality players f other players to keep the ball means it’s doomed to fail.

So I agree our basic set up is lacking. And I don't think we're making the most of what we've got. McBurnie said tactics weren't to blame, as players didn't perform. But sometimes wrong tactics is what causes poor player performances.
Our defence is below average when it comes to ability on the ball. Our two midfielders are unable to get on the ball and move it forward. I've never seen a team ending up playing it back to the goalkeeper as often as we do this season. There is some ability in the front three Hamer, McAtee and Archer, but it's often wasted as they spend far too much energy challenging and battling for the ball.

yup - bang onIf he can’t get the players up for this game honestly what’s the point, absolutely the worst game of the season for me, we’ve been beaten 8-0, this could have been 6-0 easily, I get people who says Pepe couldn’t get anything out this group of players, of course he could, I don’t mean we’d win any more than now but he’d give them a plan, direction and hopefully confidence in what he’s doing unlike Hecky who’s missing all of the fore mentioned, we need a manger who will get them organised and wanting to fight for everything, every game for 90 minutes, it’s an utter shambles
spot on unfortunatelyI had almost lost faith in the guy after the Arsenal game, but was starting to believe again after Wolves and Brighton.
Well that shower of shit today has made my mind up. Time for a change.
Absolutely fuming with that 'performance'. Half of the team can fuck off with him as well, based on that showing.
best post I've read that sums it all up - imoUnfortunately I think enough is enough, and I've been one of Heckingbottom's biggest backers.
His legacy is that he saved the club, potentially from financial ruin, so fair fucking play to him. He brought some good times to the club and I think what he achieved in the last couple of seasons is underappreciated by some.
This season, most of the problems lie squarely at the owners door. They absolutely fucked the Summer transfer window up and sent us into this season badly under prepared. Really badly.
The signings have been pathetic and we sold (arguably) our two best players. A poor message to send.
However, even with the meagre tools at his disposal we don't look motivated, we have no gameplan and we're becoming whipping boys.
We're out of options, we have to roll the dice and change it.
He'll always be welcome back and deserves a fantastic reception. He's done some terrific things and can hold his head high. I'd hope he'd find work at Championship level easy to come by as I think he's capable.
But it's best for both parties that we call it a day on this one. Before it gets any uglier.
Not a fucking prayer with this sack of shite!!Won't make any costly changes at the moment, the board will want to hope the team gels more over the months to make us competitive enough to get us promoted from the championship again
The London club breaking the rules had fuck all to do with itWe raised our game under Warnock in most matches despite the lack of quality in the squad. For the most part it was that and a fair dose of a certain London club breaking the rules that led to us going down on goal difference.
I still don't think he is PL manager by the way.
+ 1Lost for words that’s as bad as anything I’ve seen in all my years supporting the blades…
You can’t defend it any way shape or form
I’m well aware of all those points! But you are still being a snob , and underestimating Bournemouth . They are in good form . And have some good players. Not saying we weren’t poor .Were at home. At BL for Christ's sake!!
And have a good chance of picking up some points.
Who cares if they are a good side. Were in the same division as them are we not? Well make them fucking work for there 3 points then instead of rolling over at home.
Lots of fingers pointed at Hecky , including me .I'm not one for changing managers every five minute but Hecky has to go tonight and take McCall and the rest of them with him. I really do hope this is Hecky's Port Vale moment that's how bad that 1st half was. Fair to say he has been dealt a shit hand but for God sake there is no fight in the team and that and the way we are set up to defend is squarely down to Hecky and his management team. Performances were poor last season but we had two or three game changers in the team to get us results but they have gone now and the rest look lost apart from Baldock.
2 weeks to prepare for this game. What on earth have they been doing?
I thinks it's more than just stick or twist.Lots of fingers pointed at Hecky , including me .
But let's now see what , if any , leadership we do or don't get from the Prince . This club needs leadership and someone at the top to show some bollox instead of leaving everything to Hecky. He is in no mans land at the moment to some extent. Stick (which he is doing more often than not and playing so so safe) or Twist by being a little more adventurous. Hecky cant be left to wallow in this - as no action , no direction - even if we hate the message - will lead to things getting beyond a joke .
Doesn’t mean we don’t try, sorry but I’m not just going to accept we have to become the worst side ever in this leagueI really can’t see any half decent manager taking the job at this point in the season. Why? Because he’ll spend the next 5 months getting whipped with a totally demoralized squad, the best of which will be gone in the summer. A more likely scenario is that they’ll line somebody up to come in for the final 4-6 games of the season. So, enjoy the rest of the season with Hecky, setting up as he did today…….
The alternative is a choice between a totally unqualified chancer, a nutter like Warnock, Wilder (god help us, they’ll be fighting in the stands) or a mercenary arsehole like Fat Sam.
