Final straw?

At what point do we say enough is enough?

This can’t go unpunished somewhere, the fans paying good money deserve to see some response by the club, and we all know that the only thing they can do to deflect any blame from the boards disgraceful running of the club is to sack the manager. And knowing this shower of shit they will just employ the fucking Defensive coach!

But it’s a fucking embarrassment. The whole running of the club at board and team level is a shambles.

How we’ve not seen a huge demo by the fans I don’t know.

Short answer. Now.

No issues with losing
No issues with going straight back down

Do have a problem with not having a plan, not getting everything out of the players irrespective of skill level, and those who earn a living from the club accepting relegation

I was hoping the team would show guile, effort and leave everything on the pitch and I would have supported Hecky back to the Championship

However abject performances, lack of nous and effort means something has to change

Hecky is too nicer bloke and and doesn’t have it in him to change tactics and rant when we lose

If you can’t change the person, change the person.

Not sure anyone can save us, but better to try and fail, then never try at all

Sorry Paul, but your time is up

He's not the man for the job that needs doing. Trouble is, who is? Rock and a hard place doesn't come close. We're fucked.

Can't really 'blame' Hecky after the way the board have shafted him and the injuries, but I don't think he's the man for this job anymore. Needs someone to craft an identity and style from the pieces we have. We're anonymous bystanders. It's shite.
He may not get ALL the blame but on a result oriented business he is not winning. If we were losing after a battling performance fans would understand. But losing with almost zero passion...not acceptable for any club anywhere, any division. Has to, has to, HAS TO GO. You can't bring in more players til January, not that we will, but you can replace manager and coaches. Or do nothing and lose week in week out showing no hint of desire to dominant a game or even period within a game. And before you ask who will replace him....don't give a damn, but you can't tell me there isn't a hundred managers would love to coach on this league. And no to Wilder, he had his chance. Get a foreign manager, British manager, don't care. But whoever it is go bold to fire this lot up and get the passion back on the shirt.

The owner gave the manager funds to buy players, he tried to hold on to our want away star and he's openly trying to offload us. Illi left his decision to leave late, that contributed to the late signings but come on, a half decent manager could get this lot playing better than they are. We're soft as shit, we can't defend, we aren't a threat and we're second to every ball. I don't remember us laying down much under Warnock, who I fucking hated, and Bassett and even with players with limited quality we almost always competed.

the players are a fucking disgrace but after this many games, the manager should be smart enough to have done something about it.

Unfortunately I think enough is enough, and I've been one of Heckingbottom's biggest backers.

His legacy is that he saved the club, potentially from financial ruin, so fair fucking play to him. He brought some good times to the club and I think what he achieved in the last couple of seasons is underappreciated by some.

This season, most of the problems lie squarely at the owners door. They absolutely fucked the Summer transfer window up and sent us into this season badly under prepared. Really badly.
The signings have been pathetic and we sold (arguably) our two best players. A poor message to send.

However, even with the meagre tools at his disposal we don't look motivated, we have no gameplan and we're becoming whipping boys.
We're out of options, we have to roll the dice and change it.

He'll always be welcome back and deserves a fantastic reception. He's done some terrific things and can hold his head high. I'd hope he'd find work at Championship level easy to come by as I think he's capable.
But it's best for both parties that we call it a day on this one. Before it gets any uglier.

I agree. He did very very well for 18 months and made the most of what he was given. He’s been dealt a really shit hand this season, but hasn’t even sat at the table with it. With the resources he had, the only real option was to go out fighting, but that just hasn’t happened.

I'm not one for changing managers every five minute but Hecky has to go tonight and take McCall and the rest of them with him. I really do hope this is Hecky's Port Vale moment that's how bad that 1st half was. Fair to say he has been dealt a shit hand but for God sake there is no fight in the team and that and the way we are set up to defend is squarely down to Hecky and his management team. Performances were poor last season but we had two or three game changers in the team to get us results but they have gone now and the rest look lost apart from Baldock.

Hecky has no balls.

We're wank and that's a given, but when you're wank you tend to play at a high tempo and at least fight to make up for being so shite don't you? A bit like a lad who isn't a looker has to put the extra effort in....if he swans about not doing owt he's not going to pull is he?

Heckingbottom's hands are tied but it's flat as owt isn't it....I reckon we've got to change it now haven't we?

We are off the back of 2 decent results and the atmosphere was dead from the word go. The players gave us nothing to shout about and the manager may as well be sat at the bar.

I don't think a managerial change is a given, and a large problem is that it isn't clear which direction we need to go. A stop gap is pointless as we are 95% down. If it's someone longer term it needs more thought and I'd have no confidence in our current decisions makers for that either.

That said, there is plenty to be answered about how the team is being set-up and that is on Hecky.

It all stems from the midfield set up and Hecky seems to ignore lessons already learned. Last year versus Blackburn and Luton it was plainly obvious a midfield of Norwood and Fleck was just not up to it from a simple physical perspective. Results eventually led to a change to Doyle and McAtee and an instant change in athleticism and purpose.

Here we are a few months later and we are in exactly the same situation making the same selection errors. The squad's outmatched, but that does not excuse just giving up midfield game after game. Hamer HAS to play as one of the deep 2 with any other. Osborn is not a premier league footballer but at least he can get around the pitch. I like Norwood he's been a good player for us but he flourishes when we are dominating possession, which we simply don't have. Where we have 30% of the ball every match, it just doesn't work especially when he has someone as undynamic as Sousa next to him.

Midfield has GOT to change, it's been obvious for a number of games and it's that which frustrates me the most as we have learned this lesson before and not taken it on board. Lack of options is undoubtedly a problem, but at least play Hamer in his proper position.

Hecky had been dealt a shit hand with funds and injuries, but he still needs to be held accountable.

Why do the players need to be motivated to perform?
You’ve got to be on it in this league Where’s the heart, pride and professionalism.
That game was worse than the Newcastle match

OK we all knew at the beginning of the season that we would probably be relegated, if the prince thought the same and thought he would allow hecky a chance of getting us promoted next season fine, but the problem now is that if things don't change then next season the players confidence would be so low having been completely shit the season before then promotion next season is a pipe dream

Definitely final straw. Was the straw that broke the donkeys back that. How did we get so close with Man City and Spurs?

Was atrocious today
Losing is not the painful thing
But throwing in the towel and failing miserably to compete is a stackable offence

Where's the fight we showed v Blackburn in the cup gone. We never had a lot of quality .but succeeded due to desire determination and work ethic

Getting in oppositions faces

Ignition on the fire in our bellies has packed up
