Fight & Passion

I was impressed with the passion and the commitment.

Still doesn't change the fact some players still need to be offloaded come January.

It's about time we left a mark on a few of these visiting teams, we've got to start letting teams know we won't be bullied anymore, great win, good three points..

The passion was there today (from most) and that is all the fans want. We can excuse players for being crap but lack of effort is unforgivable. Lets see if they can keep it up when the Sky cameras aren't on them at Scunny next week.

Excellent to get them points. Not exactly goal of the season but at this point really couldn't care less.
Also I know back room staff and management will always get stick to some degree but I was standing with Dave McCarthy for the last few minutes for the game and from all the shouting and cheering there is no doubt in my mind that this is a club with passion whether it's coming from fans in the stands or staff in the board room.

Still a long way to go this season but at least now we know lady luck hasn't completely forgotten about us.

I didn't see any quality, not much passion or togetherness either, however they fought and battled.

It's not before time

I'm glad I'm not the only one. I can't believe the amount of ultra positivity on here after that. Must reflect what a desperate sad act this club has become.

I was completely depressed by that game.

I thought this thread about fight and passion. Quality will follow with confidence and results.

I didnt think we showed enough fight and passion and when we did it was usually by commiting stupid fouls

A few of their players like murphy armstrong and the portugese winger would have been owned by full backs we have had in the past
They would have been so shit scared to attempt to run past then and dive for free kicks that we wouldnt have had to foul th em
But im not complaining was nice to see them actually try

The fight was there, but often misplaced.

Passion shouldn't be mistaken for stupidity

Quality was when Armstrong took the ball off Collins, then nutmegged him as he skinned him

Fight and passion = hack their creative players because we have none ourselves and a weak ref?

I don't get all the moaning after that. Coventry had two good players; Murphy and Armstrong (on loan from Newcastle). Apart from that they were very average.
Brayford, Hammond and Long were impressive for us, but the whole defence did well against the two players mentioned. Collins was not as bad as some are saying.
Adkins set us up for a tight scrappy match. He wasn't looking for flair, but more blood and guts and thats what he got.
To say we were awful imo is unfair. We were solid, hard working and over came an obvious lack of confidence, so important in any match. On the other hand Cov were playing with masses of confidence but still couldn't score.

Collins did not get destroyed by anyone in the match I was watching. Armstrong who is on loan from a Prem club did well on one or two occasions but he never had a clear sight of goal. Collins is a good league 1 defender who on the whole was solid. Yes he was beaten on a couple of occasions but if he was world class he wouldn't be playing for us.

He got nutmegged... in front of his family... by a child

Collins had a spell where he showed what he is.....a poor player....

Armstrong had a one on one first half and then second half completely embarrassed him. Add in several other slices and bad passes

He did manage to nutmeg Collins but then I think most of us could do that.

Not a reply to you Deadbat but a way into the thread.

Collins is shit and big contributor to why we are where we are, how many days to January?

Just 3 games I think.

We need a cb, a mobile cm and a wide player. If we can move on/pay up another 8 or 9 then we might be in the play off hunt come May

Quite right Sitters, I can't believe the number of posts that say "We won" followed by--- A BUT OR SOMETHING NEGATIVE.
Enjoy the day for fucks sake. Remember Wimbledon, who came from nowhere, won the cup and progressed to the first division. They played it rough and dirty most games. Horses for courses Onwards and upwards
