It may (or may not) have escaped your attention that Bolton play Arsenal today, and play again at Arsenal on Wednesday.

Given their position in the PL, they can hardly field weakened teams in either game, yet the FAC4 match may well be one that's well down on their 'priority list'.

Is this game more than winnable?

I think if it wasn't for the fact we played Bolton at this stage two years ago it would be more exciting for SUFC fans. It has every reason to be.

Premiership team away from home, relatively short journey from Sheffield, certainly winnable on current form, cheap tickets = good away backing.

Bring it on. Just a shame the Ginger Whinger isn't still around. Last time Megson beat us? Must be six or seven years ago.

gi cheap as chips a fortneight holiday or so an we meight have a chance !

The game on Saturday is certainly winnable as Coyle will be looking at keeping them in the league. However can Coyle out manage Blackie even with his reserves? He certainly turned us over last year with a much inferior team.

I think Coyle will use the game as a chance to look at a few players. He started yesterday with the same team Megson left but as they kept saying on Sky, they'd be surprised if there weren't a few changes midweek and Saturday is a perfect opportunity to look at a few more. I guess he has to decide whether he can afford a potential cup defeat at home for the benefit of the bigger picture.

Winnable for us, of course it is

Interesting that the bookies have it closer than it was 2 years ago when we were 5/1 to win under Robbo. Currently best priced 7/2 for the win.

Watched the Bolton versus Arsenal game yesterday and even though Bolton lost, they're not a bad old side. Seems their league position will change very soon if they keep playing like that. Hope the cup is not high on their list.

I thought Lee looked quite dangerous on the right and I'd worry if he was running at Taylor. Davies always scores against us so as long as those two are missing they're not overflowing with threat.

Not only Arsenal twice but after our match they have to play Burnley on tuesday, a match that they would like to win.

Agreed. Bolton looked a good side to me. They obvioulsy aren't brilliant but if they play like that Saturday we are in deep trouble. I think we have to go 5 in midfield.

I think Coyle will want a win (obviously) and will play a strong team, even though the Burnley game is massive for him and them.

If Coyle can keep a straight face when he meets Blackwell I will be amazed. I don't think Blackie will be offering any patronising Adkins style hugs on Saturday. Expect a very quick handshake.

There certainly won't be any 20 second embrace along the lines of 'Owen, great to see you again, Wembley was brilliant wasn't it? I nearly lost my dream job because of you - cheers mate. Jacked it in I did, I know I aint up to it deep down, but the Chairman wanted me to stay - no I couldn't believe it either. Oh Christ - you've just scored already. That's another defeat against you you little Scottish ****. Can we go home now?'

More importantly Bolton play Burnley the following Tuesday at home. That is not only a big game for Coyle, but a must win for Bolton.

I didn't see the game against Arsenal, but I think Bolton are poor. Sure they might have played out of their skins as it was the first game, but I don't rate them. They are there for the taking.

This is very winnable. They play Arsenal Wednesday and have a big game the Tuesday after. We are playing them at the perfect time. Not only that but we have momentum. We've lots 1 in the last 12.

Micalijo I diagree with you. We should go 4-4-2. We are in form and should play to our strenghts. Fuck em. Let them worry about us. We can go there are do them. Please Blackwell be positive!!??

Creswell up top on his own for me. Ward on right, Quinn on left. Needs must for me, worried we'd get battered in 442, especially if Monty is involved in the 4 because of his total inability on the ball (QPR away excepted!!).

You say 'needs must' but for me, the bigger picture is to get Chedders scoring and far more important to give him time on the pitch than playing a more defensive formation in a game which we don't have to get a result.

I'd also like to see him try Harper and Williamson in the middle to see how they get on together but there's no chance of that.

Bit of hypocrisy here Micaliojo? Are you not one always complainging about Blackwells negativity? About how he worries about other teams and not playing to our strengths? That opposition should worry about us etc. then along comes a big game and you shit yourself and decide to play it up Blackwell style!?

If there is any game in which we should send out an offensive attacking team it is this one.

Blackwell's scaredy cat tactics make a modicum of sense when there are points to be lost, but there is no excuse in a cup game imo.

I just whinge about KB, the players he signs and the excuses he makes.

On this occassion, I think 451 gives us best chance of winning. It isn't a response to Bolton as such. I think it gives us more hope of keeping the ball and less chance of being over-run in midfield. I don't think Monty adds as much solidity as what people think in a 442 and I am a big believer in both midfielders in a 442 needing some ability to pass the ball and beat a man occassionally. WIllo can bomb forward with Ward and Quinn - it doesn't need to be negative.

week in week out I'd like a manager to stick with the same formation, whether that be 442 or 433 in the league.

I'm probably falling into Blackwell's trap of making life difficult for himself but
I'd go for 451 on Saturday.

I think you have called that one wrong Mic. Blackie likes to keep face and whilst won't patronise him I expect a lot of little jokes

"Bloody ell, not you again Coyley, haha, thought I'd get a break from you for a year or two hahaha, let us win one will ya eh big man?? hahahaha, well we could both do without a replay couldn't we?? guess i'll see you back at our place a week Tuesday hahaha, see ya pal"

Brilliant. Normally its Blackie throwing his arms around the opposition manager. So what prompted him to keep his hands in his pockets (apart from the obvious)

My money's on:

**Stern faced Blackie approaches his nemesis Coyle**

Blackie: "Oohh im not shaking your hand Coyley, everytime I do we get stuffed! You're like me bloody Kryptonite...So I'm not falling for it this time"

**both men pause**

Coyle: "Oh come here you chubby little Cockney" **Big Hug from Coyle, lifts Blackies Jacket and blows a rasberry on his belly**

**Laughs all round**

**Game kicks off**

I'm with Kent, The pre match hugs are a serious matter and will shape our season if Blackie gets them right.
