Oliver got off way too lightly, he could have sorted it by having it checked. It was lazyI actually think Oliver is a decent ref. Not much he could have done with the ghost goal. It lies with Tierney, incidentally the ref who gave Arsenal free kicks for absolutely fucking everything.
It's not up to him, it's up to them to check itOliver got off way too lightly, he could have sorted it by having it checked. It was lazy
As Chabuddy G states, the refs don't ask VAR to look into something. It's up to VAR to interfere and tell the ref they're looking into something.Oliver got off way too lightly, he could have sorted it by having it checked. It was lazy
So you expect a Ref to overrule the technology that has had a 100% success record to date? That would have opened him up to absolute pelters had he got it wrong.whos them? VAR? He was just as much too blame as the linesman.
You expect the ref to overrule both goal line technology and VAR and award a goal?whos them? VAR? He was just as much too blame as the linesman.
The last few mins of that game when we were throwing men forward and putting the ball deep, he was giving free kicks for everything. The one against fleck was a joke.Tierney's performance in the Arsenal match actually bordered on 'bias' against us. Utterly disgusting!
I certainly wouldn't be surprised if 'marginal decisions' were to go against us against Leicester.
UTB
If he gets that checked and he's wrong he's in a fuckload of trouble for questioning the 'infallible' techOliver got off way too lightly, he could have sorted it by having it checked. It was lazy

Give over, even now, 2 weeks after, nobody has verified that it wasn't working.Looking st the monitor would have given him the perfect reason to do so. Oh, and Tierney telling him the system wasn't working.....
The one detail to add is that ALLEGEDLY it had not failed before. I think it is the case that the images we see are computer-generated, and all have taken on trust that they are accurate. If it could be so wrong on the Villa goal, that trust is broken. Apologies if my hazy knowledge of how technology works is incorrect. To be fair to Oliver he had no reason to doubt the technology it hadn't failed before.

You could well be right. The fact is, they messed up big-time on a simple decision, with no credible explanation given, and there needs to be a decision on what happens to ensure that this fallible system has a fall-back position (how about the Lino trusts their own eyes?), because we now know it is not 100% accurate, even if it’s only because they forgot to switch it on.Apart from we haven't seen a single computer generated image of this incident....
Because it was never turned on.
