probably not as much the foreign links but our scouts, mccabe and blackwell. Another quick thing is what is trevor birch here for he cant be cheap and he does nothing??

so effing what? grow up. if you're reading owt into this you might as well be hangin out with hitler's astrologer

Sorry, I totally missing what point is being made here.

We don't own Ferencvaros we never have done, and there are two players that are out of contract. They are interesting Leeds (a league one team) and Palace (a team fighting relegation and having to replace players who will be leaving in the summer).

So what is your point Leeds and Palace want them therefore we should sign him up regardless?

Given that it was the blades interest that actually placed at least one of the two across there and that we've spent plenty of time looking at them/trialling... I'd suggest we have benefited from a closer look and potential first dibs.

Well Warnock rates the player and Grayson the other ... so why not KB ?

Or can't we afford them ?

proabably not, but Warnock was looking to rebuild a side from the bottom of the league next season, and Grayson could still be in League one.

Do we not own them? so are they not out players?

I think that is a popular misconception amongst many Blades fans that Mr KM likes to let run ... no they are not ours we have to buy them !

I can understand that NW might be shopping at Waitrose now ... but we will be at Lidl with Palace !

They are out of contract, if we wanted them earlier than these rivals we would of had to pay a fee. Palace and Leeds didn't seem to think they were worth this and were waiting to get them when their contracts expired.

So if they are good enough for them (if Leeds go up) , why not us ... maybe we can't stretch to their wages ............. or is it those pesky agents again ?

No we don't own that club so we don't own their players either.
There is also the fact that they are out of contract so in the summer no one owns them.

So you want us to buy players who aren't good enough just because someone else might be interested in them?
Incidentally Leeds aren't looking like going up at the moment and they are a league one club, Palace might be joining them.

If we are looking at a central defender and a defensive midfielder I'd concentrate more on trying to keep Morgan and Monty rather than sign two unknowns.

Pesky agents?

If three clubs are looking at your player then it is easier to be a 'pesky' agent than if only one is looking. The guys are only doing their jobs.

We may well be looking at the one club players next season due to our finances.

When you go to the supermarket how often do you find a decent DVD in the bargain bin?

A spine of Paddy, Morgs, Willo, Billy and Evans would suit me. Throw in Ward, Taylor and 4 academy players and I'd be quite happy. Of course I'm counting on a different manager being in charge Shame that two of those most likely won't be here come the first match of the season.

But was looking at the players while at Palace and he hasn't been in touch since.

The article is confusing, but Short is quoted "In the latest days and weeks two coaches contacted me from England: Leeds manager Simon Grayson and my good friend Neil Warnock who's now coaching Queens Park Rangers."

Wikipedia seems to think we signed them and sent them to Belgium first and then to Ferencvaros. Are they now EU citizens?

The spine of our team to contain the "prolific" Ched Evans?

At least I haven't bought that season ticket yet.....:D

When he does something good, remember to remind me of it will you? I was away for Leicester at home so missed the last effort....:p

Seriously, though you're probably right, I think we've got a very difficult season ahead if Evans is our main striker.

A strike force with a combined total of 8 goals in three hundred games. Fear us, CCC!

Fradi

Chengdu

Sao Paulo

Malta

The pick of Spurs youngsters/reserves???????????

What has any of it done for us?

Well we don't have anything to do with Fradi. Sao Paulo never happened because the main contact died, Malta is a sponsorship deal and we got Walker from Spurs.

Don't forget Central coast Mariners. I must confess i thought we owned 3 of these clubs. I'm confused. Why are they on the clubs web site and their replica shirts in the shop.

McCabe's business owns them (actually Fredi was a property deal), the only Club United own is Chengdu. They are called our sister club because of Scarborough having controlling interests in us both.

They are called our sister clubs so that we can be fooled into thinking McCabe's interests exactly match United's. And that's all. Don't get me wrong, I think McCabe has been a good chairman, but there is no way what is in his best interest is exactly the same all the time as United's best interest. No doubt he's happy when the two coincide, but there's absolutely no chance of him picking United before self.

We have a link between the two, but that's about it. Players have gone there to "gain experience", and the Belgian club was supposed to be helpful in bringing non-EU players through due to their flimsy employment laws, but the fruits of these labours in establishing links has been nice trips for Our Turry, a visit for a day from Pele when he wasn't flogging Viagra, a few Chengdu shirts worn in Sheffield and the odd turn from the Chinese lion dancers at half time. No more benefit has come from it.

Sister clubs? We've had as much joy from our sister clubs as we would have had if we'd signed Whoopie Goldberg and the nuns from Sister Act, or Dee Snider from Twisted Sister. As an exercise for McCabe to buy a foreign club it's worked a treat. In all other areas it's been an abject failure. Hao Haidong anyone?

My concern with Ferencvaros, and some of the other ventures, is who pays for the expensive globe trotting, English wages in Hungary, Hotel bills etc etc.? I could never see how Fradi culd pay for the number of high earning Englishman we sent their way.
