Ok, with the new season about to start, a few doubts coming out, few nerves begining to show, so I thought it would be good to lighten the mood a little, and look back at good times to put us in a positive mood for the begining of the season.

Think back to your best blades match can be home or away.

I could rant for ages as I have a couple, but the one that sticks out in my mind is the semi final 2nd leg against Forest. I have watched the tapes I have of that game over and over again and I will probably watch them before the game against Blues as a warm up.

I still get goose bumps watching the goals, the players reactions, the noise of the crowd, Warnock running down the touch line about to chuck his chewing gum then deciding not to, Kamaras commentry when Kabba scored 'If your names Darren Ward you don't see it till its past ya!' and of course the little mans celebration and seeing how much it meant to him.
It was an amazing night for everyone inside Bramall Lane apart from the away end.

What's your favourite game? Do you have a tape like me that you watch over and over again or before big games to get you in the mood?

Charlton away, purely for the atmospehere

But I would have to say Hull home the other season, with Unsworth 3 yard bullet. All but guaranteed promotion. Was brilliant.

been a few good ones, as rachy says the one against forrest was ace. also coventry in the cup on st paddy's night with kelly.

but i must admit the 3 - 1 against the pigs was awsome. i was sat in the john street in the last section of seating so was right next to the grunters. they was giving it big when quinn scored but, my word when browny scored THAT goal, i was in bliss. the amount of abuse that was hurled at the oinkers was ace :D

Forest 4-3 was awesome, the game had everything. The floodlit pitch, the capacity crowd, the come back, the goals, the atmosphere. Everything! :D

Hull 3-2 back in the promotion season because of the importance of the game and the drama that was involved.

1-0 against Arsenal anyone? That was propably my favourite game of the Premiership season. The time, the goal from Nade, the situation with Paddy were Jags had to go in goal and the look on Arsene Wenger's face :D

Can you get the forest game on dvd anywhere i would die for it

Forest 4-3 wednesday 3-1 and arsenal 1-0 were quality also hull 3-2 and 1-0 at cardiff in promotion season. 3-0 against west ham was brilliant as well.

Just for me?

Sheffield United 2 Day Before Thursday 0. November 17 1992.

Shutting them up as we were second bottom of the table as they were riding high was one thing, but with The Mighty Brian Deane putting it through Woods' legs was amazing.

A certain Mr Blade Dane Blade Whitehouse Blade scoring too made the beer even more sweet.

Day Before Thursday 1 Sheffield United 3. March 11, 1993

We all looked at the team sheet and were worried when we saw Bobby Davison in the line up, after his goal hanging antics which didn't help when we'd lost 4-0 at Bellend Road to effectively lose the old Second Division.

Mr Blade Dane Blade Whitehouse Blade turned up very early, before Mr Davision made it two. They pulled one back withh a deflected free kick, but Mr Davison made himself a Blades legend by securing our first double in quite some time, and we even forgave the fact that he played for Weeds.

Sheffield United 4 Scabs 3 (aet), May 15, 2004

So many things were happening in my life at that time, which made this the roller-coaster of all time. I can vaguely remember the first half, and I doubt I've ever had as much "Russian Tango", as quickly in all my life.

sufclucy got lost at half time, and all sorts happened, including a late goal back for them, to make us worry. An amazing match nevertheless though.

Sheffield United 6 West Brom 0, February 19, 2000

I've done this one before already, so I shan't go through the whole story, but our subs that day are interesting. Those used were Laurent D'Jaffo, Davy Gysbrechts, and Bruno Ribeiro. Curtis Woodhouse and Petr Katchouro were left on the bench.

When I've more time, the life and times of a happyhippy Blade may return .....

It were a reight game though, that 6-0 ......

That's got to be my favourite. First ever trip to the sty for a derby. Sat in the corner (overspill allocation) - not my first away match but not far off, so different to sitting in the old family enclosure on the south stand and couldn't believe the atmosphere. School was amazing for the next few weeks!! :D:D

Port Vale 3 3 Sheffiled United 1988/89 season.

Until that night match I used to be a regular at Port Vale with my old man, however the sheer number of travelling blades and the atmosphere that was created that night was just to much for me to resist.

I committed the ultimate footballing sin and changed my team.

The rest is history.

I was there!!! My mate got kicked by a police horse outside the away end. It was probably him making all the noise you heard, big girl!!! :D

Turncoat ;)

Seriously though, take a brave man to admit that they'd much rather be supporting the Blades. DJ on here is a Wednesday fan, and he hasn't been strong enough to face the truth yet :D

In retrospect, do you think you made the right decision?

9th September 1973 - Bramall Lane

Sheff Utd 5 Arsenal 0

A little lad sat on the old white railings on the John Street Terrace. The famous Arsenal team, recent winners of the double, turn up at the Lane and are expected to secure two more points ( 3 arrived much later).

The legend that is Tony Currie completely destroyed them, giving the finest individual performance in a Blades shirt, I think I have ever seen, even given my tender years it still seemed awesome.

Sheffield United 2-0 Sunderland

Travelled down in a car full of sunderland fans, and 1 adult. (i was 13 at the time)

Everyone at school who knew i was a Blade kept telling me how we were going to be beaten, it was going to be this, that and the other. they had beaten Arsenal away in the round before 3-2, coming from 2-0 down.

I was surprised i was not left behind in S2 after the match! They were shocking, Wayne Allison scored and i was in ecstacy. Only dissapointment on the night was Pesch not scoring 2 late chances to embarrass them further.

Needless to say i was ignored the next few days :D

That's one of my recent favourites. I was on the Kop. When they went a goal up my piggy father-in-law sent me a smart-arsed text. He got one back each time we scored.
At the end I rang him up, and let him listen to The Greasy Chip Butty Song. I then hung up without a word. Absolutely priceless.

If we are going on League games then id say the Play Off game against Forest.

Cup game id say beating L**ds in the FA cup when Jags scored that screamer of a goal. Sent the L**ds fans home crying and ripping seats out.

League cup;), remember it well. Hugged my mate, then the randomers around me:D

I'm useless with dates... but I'll do my best.

Us 2 - 1 Weeds, 6th November 2002 - yes, THAT Jagielka goal (Happy fucking birthday to me - couldn't ask for better than that)

Us vs Forest, play off semi-final, may 2003 was it?

Us Vs Coventry City March 17th 1998 (FA Cup Semi Final)

Arsenal VS Us 1-1, cup game, back to replay at BDTBL

Yes, I've had many great times and many disappointments supporting the blades, and met some of the most decent and loyal fans around.

As I mentioned in one of my 1st posts I was a STH for 5 seasons from 93-98 and used to be a regular at the majority of away games too, until other things in life took a greater priority.

Vale are a decent club much better than the thugs across the city, and i must admit I still have a wee soft spot for them but since that night it was the blades all the way.

My best two games are

United vs Forest- what a night that was- shame I had an exam the next morning

3-1 vs wednesday- with the Brown thunderbolt and the chief tap in
