Dearneside Fabrications is conspicuous by its absence.

Piper-Heidseck Champagne was also a favourite in the late 90s

It featured in my painting of Gary Hamson's goal against Liverpool in the 1978 League Cup!

That's a brilliant painting mate. I was in my usual spot on the big step?on the Kop. My old memory is telling me he scored at the Lane end😱 Artistic licence? or age getting the better of me? Either way,is it possible to purchase a copy?😉

Head For Housleys will never be beaten in my opinion. I always reckoned the player was modeled on Stewart Scullion.
Didn't that Housleys one have a drawing of a cheeky yoof with a black eye at one point? Like he'd just been in a 'scrap'. I'm sure it said 'Housleys for Scrap'...???

Mine has to be Simpkins, centre, front of John Street. Been there for years now and no idea what it is they do.

I was in our local Chemist recently and they sell Nipits. I'd never heard of them, but they're little liquorice lozenges and I noticed they were made in Sheffield. I've just discovered they're made by Simpkins and saddened to learn the factory is in H*llsborough and the family are oinkers.

Shame that, I nearly bought a tin.

Got to be the iconic 'I told em Oldham'

Only ever been to Boundary Park once. Early January (I think) and lost 4-1 on the plastic pitch while it pissed it down on the uncovered away end all match.
For a good while next to us were a group of lads, to the tune of "we love United, we do" singing "we hate your batteries, we do". There were more than a few puzzled faces in the Oldham stand.

To be fair to Simpkins they do fill the stinking streets of Hillsbro with the more appealing aroma of boiled sweets (smelt like sherbet lemons when I was passing through on Tuesday)
With them on one side and Fletchers bakery on the other, it keeps the air pollution from the rust bucket piggery to a minimum - a valuable public service.

It was definitely scored at the Kop end as this photo, taken from a different angle, shows.

I do have some prints of the painting left, signed by Gary Hamson. You can have one for £15 including P&P. PM me with your details if you are interested.
