Probably didn't want to turn it into a home game for us .
Was any way

Never been to their gaff.

Looks, erm...vintage.

I phoned their ticket office around 12.30 to see if they would let me and my wife in. I described who we were, our history of being Blades fans and how we were of a slightly more mature age. I offered to give them my united account number and bring other ID to prove we were no "threat or trouble causers". I also made the point that my honesty was being penalised, where as if I had travelled and given a Scunthorpe Address then my dishonesty would be rewarded. (yes I know that you could pay on the day in certain parts of the ground). I suggested that they had as a club the ability to put pressure on the police and the FA to suggest a change in attitude towards Football fans in general and the way we are treated. Yes it would be a long process but if the clubs worked together they could find a solution to our poor treatment.
Perhaps it could start with a number of registered fans from every club who would be quite happy to mix together during a game. A mixed section would then free more tickets in an "away" section?

And how did you get on?

And how did you get on?
It was a decent conversation to say I phoned at that time. They gave me the time to express my thoughts and said that during their debeifing this week it would be discussed.

Look, Mrs Greasy has just had a reight go at me Radders.
Come on mate, let us know so I can apologise to her and get missen sorted.

This is getting daft now.
Are you doing this on purpose?
Wife's just had another go and threatened me with divorce if I don't get going.
For the sake of my marriage, come on mate, spill the beans.

Please hurry up, she's expecting me round as soon as you go out mate.

Oh great. Just great.
She's now phoned to say I better be out of the house before she gets home tonight.
See what you've done you selfish ******
A simple answer to a simple question.
That's all I wanted to know.
Now, for the sake of my sanity, DID YOU GET THE F*****G TICKETS?!!!!

That cost them 10k today ,along with the 10k they gave to Mr Deadman ,and expensive day for them ,at least the concourse didnt get trashed.
Their 'boys' were waiting next to the training ground btw ,about a dozen teenyboppers ,I heard the big fat one say his phone had run out of charge. Pwopper norty.

I sadly counted the rows and seats of that section we usually get and came to a similar figure. :) How on earth does it make financial sense to do that? Our naughty young boys wouldn't have enough points to go today, but I have to say there were plenty of paralytic mature Blades who couldn't possibly have focused on the game, spent most of it with their backs to the pitch chatting or drinking in the concourse, running in and celebrating when we scored.

I lived in Scunthorpe for a good chunk of my life, and my brother is a big Scunthorpe United fan, so sad to see them relegated down to the National League North.

Not that long back they'd massively overachieved to be in the Championship.

Yeovil - another Championship club not too long ago - are about to be relegated to the 6th tier too.

Rochdale look set to be added to the list of 'traditional' Football League clubs like Notts County, Chesterfield, Oldham and Southend who've dropped into non-league in recent years.

The further down you go, the harder it appears to get back up.

It's really sad as despite many of these being "small" clubs, the fans love their clubs as much, if not more, than fans of the "big" clubs.

Let's be honest anybody can support a glamour team, with a big stadium etc.

Yep definitely. I’ve got far more respect for anyone who actively follows a club lower down the pyramid than a Premier League one from their armchair.

Not long after we knocked them out the cup, someone in the media was making the case for Spurs being the most depressing club to support in the country. Words failed me.
