So when we've signed Leonard, Lenihan and Maddison what would our best 11 look like?

Moore
Lenihan Stearman O'Connell
Baldock Leonard Fleck Stevens
Maddison
Sharp Evans

I'm not seriously thinking Tufty would do this all at once - but possibly only 4 from last year's team that pissed League 1 reveals a manager who knows that if you're not going forwards you're going backwards.

Have a play with his options and see what you come up with.

Fantasy is right because Wilder will show more loyalty to his players than that. Basham, Coutts and Freeman will be the first names on the team sheet along with Billy, Fleck and Moore. The new players will have to earn their places which is as it should be.

What this does highlight is that we need a striker.

I did say that there's no way that all of these changes would be made at the same time.

The point of the post was to illustrate that if those last 3 rumoured signings happen, then Tufty will be able to field almost a whole new squad with players whose reputations are as strong or stronger than last year's team.

Basham, Freeman and possibly Carruthers would probably be in my first team. I would play Coutts against the weaker teams but start Leonard against the harder sides, especially away.

As I said, the main point is that we would have one hell of a strong and flexible squad. Much deeper and more flexible than last year.

Why would you drop Freeman for Baldock?
Freeman was quality last season, and will defiantly start the first game of season. However I expect us to be under the cosh quite a bit next season, and baldock is the better defender so wouldn't be surprised if he's first choice by Christmas

Fair enough.

I don't know enough about Baldock to say whether you are right or wrong in your assessment, but Freeman should certainly start the season as first choice. He's earnt that.

I would say that Lafferty (although solid) is more at threat. Depends how good Stevens is though.

how do you know he is a better defender, just curious, people always say things like this about new signings, but how can you truely know without watching someone week in week out?

Going off bits I've seen of him, going off mk dons fans opinions of him. And then my opinion of freeman, of which he's a average defender at best
