Fan Advisory Board

So far, so typical.

It’s an advisory board made up from people willing to put themselves out to do it.
But you’ll always get gripes from those who didn’t put themselves forward originally, don’t want to put themselves out now, didn’t contact any of the member to highlight what they weren’t happy with and then claim that it doesn’t represent them.

I’ve applied both times they’ve opened up applications to the FAB and heard nothing from them. Looking at the candidates selected and their prior involvement with the club it certainly looks like their appointing friendly faces.
A fair point and challenge. I can understand why they felt the need to initially appoint people they can work with to get things done but it can’t be a closed shop. I’d contact one to ask for a response to your application, the importance of new, fresh voices and what the plans are for future application openings. Bob would seem the best from the list provided.

This is from Facebook, purely because it was the first result when I searched for it.

I did see it on Twitter too, and it also appeared as an article on the club website.

Although that latest deadline has passed, the application form is still actually open if anyone wants to read it:

Ok thanks for that, was more curious than anything else as I don't use FB or X but was interested to know how these things got put out there.

I still don't really understand the need for it. I guess taking a sample of supporters in a group rather than sharing with all season ticket holders is a simpler way to deal with things concerning supporters. I guess it means things get done.

Thanks again

A Fan Advisory Board was a requirement when we were in the Premier League/will be a requirement when we're next there.

And is highly likely to be a requirement under the new Football Governance Legislation/Regulator.

The English football ownership model is broken. And we'll never be able to put the pieces back together.

But, step back, I feel that anything that gives fans a chance to have their say is part of a better, while far from perfect, governance structure.

Who are these idiots a statement on X says if you don't have an e-mail and want more info to e-mail the club directly. You couldn't make it up 🤣🤣🤣
Let me make it up for you...

If you haven't RECEIVED an email (relating to impacts of Safe Standing on The Shoreham), but would like to know more info, please email the club directly at...

It's great how these FABs are performance based, so as we're bottom of the league, these fans clearly haven't advised CoH well enough and will be resigning shortly...

Same. I actually put proper effort into my recent application and thought I'd hear something but 🤷🏻‍♂️

This won't be a popular view but IMHO the majority (NOT ALL) of people on fan boards at any club, not just ours, aren't involved for the benefit of the fan base in general.
WI/Rotary Club/Church committee for football clubs.

"Improve communication"....... and that comes from the folk that don't communicate with the fans.... priceless.

It’s should be Certain Fans Advisory Board as they don’t seem to be communicating with us proles.

Still, your photo on the club website is the important thing. Can’t they have a uniform so we can see them at games?

At least the old SUISA lot were identifiable fans, even if they did seem to toe the clubs line after a while. I've never even heard of this, let alone the people involved.

Annnnnnnd... Something else for Blades fans to bicker about and fall out over. I get the impression that United fans could fall out with their own shadow. Maybe it wouldn't hurt to occasionally swallow our pride and ask that lot over the other side of the city who their deludomol supplier is.
