Facebook group to save United from Blackwell

I think there is about as much chance of Kevin McCabe acting upon a Facebook group as there is him sacking him after reading "Blackwell out" scrawled on the back of one of the South Stand toilet doors.

It helped get Barack Obama elected...

I'm thinking more along the lines of Kevin McCabe's lack of involvement/interest in message boards/websites.

Social networking and internet trends can be very powerful, but I wouldn't take too much notice to a Facebook group and I'm employed and have an active interest in the "web industry", never mind Mr McCabe.

Anyone else spotted the "let's hope the Muslims nuke Sheffield United" group. Set up by some brainy Hammers with a whole 19 members!

Never happen cus you lot keep takin yer shoes off, won't bomb their own.

Any way we are so suicidal think how many bombers they could recruit on Saturday.

The bloke who set that group up, Paul Mckay, has written on his wall "drugs dont kill you, black people do!!". What a charmer.

He also has "the communal landing in my flat is like a bloody farm since them afri coons moved in and started using it as a goat pen".

I believe that this would mean that he is in breach of the T&C's in which case he shouldnt be long before he is removed

Foxy,

A non- hostile genuine question. Do you think it's time for a change? If not, what would change your mind?

As I've said elsewhere, something needs to change and change quickly, as we'll implode if not.

Blackwell over the last couple of weeks has done little to back his own corner, infact probably the opposite given the way his comments were always likely to be interpreted.

Whether or not we should change the manager, depends on a number of factors I'm not really privvy to. The main ones being:

  • Can we afford to pay him off?
  • What effect would it have on the squad as a whole (positive or negative)?
  • Who can we replace him with?
  • What do we have planned in summer?
I think the last part is quite possibly the main factor at the moment, we need to do something fairly big at the end of the season, if nothing else, because we won't have much of a playing squad remaining.

I think no matter what the answer to these questions is, the plan was to have him in place till at the very least the end of the season... Whether or not the current attitude and problems force their hand earlier, I'm not sure, but he's going to have to earn his money to last until the Pig match if it carries on.

If we don't make the play offs (which is looking increasingly likely to be the case), then I think he'll have to provide a VERY convincing case that he can have us up there next year to the directors or he'll be on his bike after the last kick of the season.

In summary:

If we can bring someone in that can convincingly say they'll improve us, with a realistic "road plan" then I'd change it.

I'm just not entirely sure we have the resources or options available and have an incling that we are looking to get to the summer and start a new "push".

It's too quiet, it can't remain this quiet, is it quiet for a reason with something on the horizon?

For me, the most pressing question is "Who do we replace him with?" If Blackwell did go (as so many seem to think is the only option) then who would we realistically get in instead and what kind of job could they do with what is now essentially Blackwell's own squad?

Agree, and I think McCabe knows it has to be third time lucky after his last two disastrous appointments. He really cannot afford to take any more risks which would rule out Speed for anything other than a caretaker role. Maybe O'Driscoll is the man but we would have to be very patient as it would mean a complete upheavel.

Looks like Facebook worked then? :)

Rumours are circulating on another board that he may have left the building (willingly)

Apparantly, this coming from different sources too!

Don't shoot the messenger, just passing it on

PS. If true, you can all go and queue up for your st's now! LOL!

United fans......patient.......:loopy:

O'Driscoll would be my choice but I didn't and don't see Blackwells appointment as a mistake given the results up to the end of last season.....just time for a change the end of this season I think.

I'd love to see O'Driscoll come in. However, he turned down the chance to manage in The Premiership (with Burnley) so I doubt very much he'd jump ship to come to us!

Just report him and his group then :D

I think that there's more chance of KMC and his Bilderberg chums doing it themselves but making it look like the Muslims did it....

Oh god, I didn't just say that, did I? And on here of all places too.... :p

Another member for ya,Walt...
