Fa Cup Quarter finals confirmed

Not sure I get the moaning from some. It's a cup game so no one has paid for it yet. It's the least appealing to the nation than the other three so we were always going to get the shitty end of the stick in respect of the kick off times and the TV.

So it's your choice. No one is putting a gun against your head making you go. No one has paid for a ticket yet. Decide if you want to go or dont go. It's your choice. I would have preferred a 3pm Saturday kick off like the quarter finals used to be back in the 80s but I know football has changed. I would have preferred to be sleeping with Scarlett Johansson in my bed tonight rather than the wife but life isn't perfect is it. Rather than moaning about a kick off time for a game, feel pleased that we are actually there as only 8 teams left in the competition.

The Missus might not be totally happy (actually I don't think she will be too bothered) but I will restrict what I drink on the day and make sure I go home straight after the game and spoil her rotten afterwards with the kids to make up for going to the game. She will understand my choice. If she didn't, she wouldn't be my missus.

what i dont understand is why is there 3 fa cup games on Sunday. i assumed common sense would be 2 Saturday & 2 Sunday.

if Us/Blackburn or Brighton/Grimsby goes to extra time then there going to be issues where you have 2 matches going at the same time on 2 different channels. i dont know why Saturday lunchtime isnt a option there is no lunchtime game in premier league

Called it in Shoutbox yesterday.

City v Burnley is the most attractive fixture for the TV companies so that got the prime Saturday evening slot. Like it or not, Newton Heath has a huge following and them playing another PL team gets second place and the Sunday teatime fixture. Brighton v Grimsby is more attractive than us against Blackburn so those get the two earlier fixture slots on the Sunday.

Put it this way: only a diehard football fan neutral is going to specifically tune in for two Championship sides playing each other in an FA Cup quarter final.

My wife has zero interest in football. Some of the (rare) questions she asks me make wonder how she can possibly no so little about it, when I care so much about it. Zero interest.

I might take her for a Mother's Day surprise.

Some people can't decide if they want to go! That decision has been taken away with the wank KO time, my lads are in the cup semi final and most of us are blades and season ticket holders we can't postpone or forfeit the game so yes for us the decision has been made for us.

Stupid ill thought comment. There will be thousands made plans to treat their wife/mother and now face a big issue. Guess you're Billy no bird.

Not that stupid based on some of the comments from those who feel the same. You guess wrong btw, not that it's relevant nor any of your business.

I get what you are saying but it's not a league match where you have already paid for something and its been rearranged. Instead it's a 'extra' game which wasnt pre planned back in June last year when the fixtures came out.

There are times I can't get to the Lane because of other commitments but I can accept that and I can either make it or i can't. I accept that. I don't feel that I have had a choice taken away as if I really wanted too i could be there but i decide sometimes that other things get preference. It's not United causing this, it's just circumstance.

And I would much rather miss the game and know United are in the quarter finals than watch United go out meekly in the 3rd round. Bottom line, go or dont. As mentioned it's your choice and no one has paid for this already.

Just seen the news that Rishi Sunak has decided that because of the Coronation this year, as a special favour to King George after the loss of his dear old Mum, Her Maj, he’s changed the calendar so it’s now Mothering Saturday AND Sunday.
Don’t fear Blades-fans - either day is as good as the other one.
Don’t bother fact-checking it - just pass it on.

No reason why it can't be a decent atmosphere. It's not like it's an 8am kick off. If you want you can still have a couple of hours supping before the game.

Three out of four quarter finals on the Sunday, means it's not great for anyone

It's great for me, all away fans and any home fans that don't live local to their club on account of the Saturday being the latest unpaid day off for all train staff

You should hold the same view regarding peoples kids birthdays and Christmas Day. Descended from Ebeneezer Scrooge without a doubt.

Their fault for buying into those commerical holiday nonsense. Go out the week before or after and don't force yourselves to do something on a day you are told to. I might have pancakes tomorrow. Stick it to the system! 😉

I got in at 11.30 last night made pancakes for everybody, went down a storm at the time* peanut butter + caramel snickers melted into them..

Just got told I was a cunt showing off from the missus..

She eat hers though, no moaning then if I remember reight.

Anyway 3 points would be nice, time for the second sleep UTB.. 😂😂

* I may have been a bit twatty, it's the irish dexter I blame, but my brain and body is glad I'm not off to Blackburn.

Safe journey wished to those that are just pulling the covers down and getting up..

Followed by Newton Heath v Fulham at 16.30.

Three of the four matches on the Sunday.

Brighton & HA v Grimsby Town - 14.15
If it had to be mothers day we have the best kick off time.
Still time to visit or go for a meal and would be a celebration if we win through.
My mum died years ago but she knew how important the Blades were to me and would encourage me to go .
There's all afternoon to join the family after the game.
