If it had to be mothers day we have the best kick off time.
Still time to visit or go for a meal and would be a celebration if we win through.
My mum died years ago but she knew how important the Blades were to me and would encourage me to go .
There's all afternoon to join the family after the game.

Bless you mate, still got both my parents and I'm in my 50s. Feel very lucky indeed.

Not sure I get the moaning from some. It's a cup game so no one has paid for it yet. It's the least appealing to the nation than the other three so we were always going to get the shitty end of the stick in respect of the kick off times and the TV.

So it's your choice. No one is putting a gun against your head making you go. No one has paid for a ticket yet. Decide if you want to go or dont go. It's your choice. I would have preferred a 3pm Saturday kick off like the quarter finals used to be back in the 80s but I know football has changed. I would have preferred to be sleeping with Scarlett Johansson in my bed tonight rather than the wife but life isn't perfect is it. Rather than moaning about a kick off time for a game, feel pleased that we are actually there as only 8 teams left in the competition.

The Missus might not be totally happy (actually I don't think she will be too bothered) but I will restrict what I drink on the day and make sure I go home straight after the game and spoil her rotten afterwards with the kids to make up for going to the game. She will understand my choice. If she didn't, she wouldn't be my missus.
What will your missus be doing whilst you’re with Scarlett?

Just asking for a friend

It's Sunday because we play Sunderland Wednesday night
Burnley play Wednesday night and their game is Saturday.
If we hadn't progressed in the cup, we'd be playing league on Saturday.

All those Wednesday games have done is remove the Friday night slot

Both Manchester teams at home, they were always going to be one Saturday, one Sunday. And Man U are playing in Europe the Thursday before, so they had to be Sunday and so Man C v Burnley had to be Saturday.
Damn you rival fans coming on here, providing actual thoughtful, factual comments.
Did you not read the forum rules when signing up? 🤣

Same mate, gonna be a tough day but I know my Mum will want me (and everyone else) to go and enjoy the day to the very best way possible. Take care.
Same here Mum passed away in January she was married to Dad for 54 years and it will be difficult day for us all, but I will be going with Dad and I’m sure she would approve.

Never factored in we’d be in the 1/4 final when planning holidays…I set off for airport at exactly when we kick off on Sunday, ffs!
I'll be in the air on the way to Dublin. Shit happens. Long time since I had to worry about Mother's day. I'm disappointed but I was at the Tottenham game and Wrexham and if we get through I'll be at Wembley. My mother incidentally would have absolutely understood that I would have cancelled any plans and gone to the game. Mums usually want their kids to be happy.

Surely we won't be that bad again? I think it will be a different scenario in front of a full house at the Lane.

You should hold the same view regarding peoples kids birthdays and Christmas Day. Descended from Ebeneezer Scrooge without a doubt.
Scrooge ? Nice one. I suppose I've been called worse in my lifetime but I'm sure you'll have your reasons why you reached that conclusion.

You call me "Billy no missus" in a previous post, but then you have another meaningless pop at me at twenty to five in the morning !! You've got some fucking nerve I'll give you that.

I hope you didn't spend too long thinking about these insults but I'm anticipating another belter heading my way in reply. However, I'm curious to know why you were on the keyboard at 4.40am. A bit early to be getting ready for today's game perhaps, or didn't you bother going to Blackburn because you didn't agree with that kick off time either?

I work shifts. Don't bother conversing with me again. There is nothing about you or your opinions I have any interest in discussing. Rather have nothing whatsoever to do with you than engage further.

Opportunity to do summat diffrent n tek thi mother t't Lane.
Na na na na she's a Blade n she's a Blade😉
That’s a cracking idea 💡- especially as she’s a Weds fan

Am making the "ultimate sacrifice" and going out for Mother's Day.

Two small kids (hard work) and my wife has no interest in football whatsoever - I don't want to add to her list of resentments against me!

Not sure I could do it for a league game at this point, but can at least record cup match and avoid score, watch it at a proper kick off time maybe 4pm-ish when back home.

I've had a lot of earache about "leaving me all day on Mother's day". I've just told her that she can do whatever she wants on Father's day this year and every other year as it's all a load of bollocks anyway!
