i would have liked a cup run but we'll have to put it off for a couple of years while we get promoted and consolidate in the PL. Win it in 2021.

Fylde v Kiddy.....that will be a good game to watch to be fair, i saw them last season and it was 3-3, great advert for non league footy.

Hereford v Telford..... well, avoid like the plague, bunch of pikeys vs a bunch of pikeys from neighbouring borders spells one thing only and it aint pretty!

Eighth tier Hyde United against MK Dons the draw of the round!

Kiddy and Hereford in the hat though so will be keeping an eye on them..

And for the proper minnows albeit with some financial clout...

Shaw Lane Aquaforce
Wonder what the odds would be for them to be playing the dingles in the league in 10 year's :rolleyes:

So glad we don't have to worry about this pointless farrago until January,

A nine month long distraction from the serious stuff to find out which two of the big six get to have an end of season knockabout together in May at Wembley.

Went to watch a Telford match a couple of years ago at theirs , I was staying in the hotel at the ground while working down there , decent non league ground

In the wrong section fortunately!! Glad that we're not watching this evening's draw contemplating an away trip to Dover in November!

Speak for yourself!!

The Crabble is an atmospheric ground in a gladed wood in the only picturesque part of Dover.

There are 5 micro pubs and even a micro cider pub between the station and the ground and a local normal pub sells Kelham Island. At least two boozers have skittle alleys and there's even a young Firm to keep our young knobheads happy.

It's also only 20 minutes away by train for me and the weather is positively tropical in November down here.

Wilder OUT!!

What’s happening with your club nowadays JR always used to be one of the bigger names in non league football , I’m guessing financial difficulties ?

Hopefully we will draw them in the third round :)

They might end up playing them this season, imagine what that would do to the local gene pool.

We took a voluntary relegation and dropped down 3 leagues to Midland Alliance League level to ringfence what money we have got left in the coffers which is about 250k. Crowds are now a hardcore 330, a lot have boycotted home games because they dont want to give another penny to the current board..the supporters trust hasnt got the boards support either so its all a mess really regards getting a new ground as there appear to be two seperate paths being taken and stumbling blocks over planning permission for a new ground a lot of which is political with the local council.

Feels like a slow lingering death to be honest and dragging a barely breathing carcass around the teams in our division this season, yet yes, our name is still deemed a big fish youre right and away games have seen everybody treating us as if its their Cup final, even the bottom teams in recent weeks have plundered points off us.

Im seeking some solace for a run in the FA Vase so we'll see how it pans out.

Actually I forgot ,a well known poster on here manages one of the Shaw Lane junior teams. I wont mention him in case he doesn't want people to know but hopefully hes using my old coaching manuals I gave him ;)

Yeah, definitely don't mention him. Promoted to the Premier last season, played 4 lost 4 so far this season.

Anyone know any quick, tall, 12/13 year old centre backs looking for a club?!

Sad to see that JR always thought of Worcester City as one of the bigger clubs in non league football , I hope they manage to turn things around and you start to climb back up ,until to recent I’ve always kept an eye on what’s happening in non league football & took in more than a few games over the years ,when I was younger played in lower part of pyramid & know a few of lads still involved .
I seen what happened to Darlington & Kettering and with with rogue owners also fly by night millionaires at Colne who left them in the shit after a couple of years of look at me headlines , so get where your at pal ,

Thank you for the kind words..one of the reasons I stuck around here was because of stuff like this, the football knowledge is second to none and friendliest bunch ive come across!

Ketterings old Rockingham Road ground is set to be demolished, another sad loss of a big old traditional non league ground much like ours was, they appear to be back on the rise though top of their league along with Hereford breathing down their necks and a potential cup tie at Stevenage. Back in the late 60s to the 70s Kettering and Worcester often had big league clashes when the Southern League was quite a powerhouse of teams, quite a few to become league clubs..just checking the records now, played 60 times Worcester won 25 , drawn 12 lost 23. Season 67/68..Worcester finished top, Kettering 2nd...we were 23 games unbeaten and went to Kettering and of course there was controversy (something that created plenty of needle still to this day!), the Worcester keeper caught the ball from a corner and the Kettering players basically booted him into the net with it and the ref bottled it giving them the goal which gave them a 1-0 win.
We got revenge in the home game later on and stuffed them 4-1 in front of 3400.
And the season after, it must have still rankled as we absolutely spanked them 7-2 at home!! Lost 5-1 away though ahem.

I remember the Colne Dynamoes saga pretty well too back in the 90s...saw them play at Kidderminster in an FA Trophy game, they brought a good 1000 odd and packed one of the ends out, Kiddys ground was just being rebuilt then. These teams with owners that have a bit of money and grandiose ideas usually end up falling flat on their faces, Sittingbourne was another, Hastings had the Lottery winner funding them till he packed it in, Darlington was crazy and its taken them a good while to come back, Scarboro as well. Can add Bromsgrove too really, in the early to mid 90s they finished 2nd in the Conference, had big Cup games and then spiralled down, coming back now though.

That would be my perfect cup draw, away to a beatable team, new ground, somewhere different for a few pre match beers, what more could you wish for?
I always wanted someone like Canvey Island or Eastbourne or Dover away it it was never to be, let's hope we get something similar in the third round.
What could be better?
