The FA Cup is more or less dead due to the FA’s own decisions.

1. They Scrapped 2nd and 3rd replays
2. They scrapped semi final replays entirely
3. They pressurised the then holders Man U not to defend so they played in some pointless tournament in Brazil in a fruitless attempt to land the World Cup
4. They moved the semis to Wembley.
5. They scrapped the quarter final replays.

If the FA can’t respect the traditions of their own tournament why should anyone else give a toss about it?

Completely agree with your last sentence. Which is why I feel the “romance” of the cup, which once upon a time was the buzz phrase, is somewhat missing these days.

My thoughts overall are that the quicker we are out of this comp, the better it will serve us.
