Had a quick search but can't see a thread for this one, suppose it might be tucked away in another thread somewhere on here but who knows?

The FA Cup second round game away at Bury or Cambridge will be live on BT Sport. It is to be played on Sunday 8th December 2013 at 12 noon which puts me off Cambridge slightly as don't fancy the early starter on a sunday morning!

Can see the figures for that game breaking all viewing records...

Dont know how many people are aware but if you have a BT Internet package at home and Sky TV package you can simply call up BT and they will put BT Sports onto your Sky Box for you free of charge for a year. You just call them up and ask for it and they ask for your Sky Viewing card number and bobs your uncle.....completely free of charge for this season.

My birthday 8th December so a good emphatic win and a nice home draw for 3rd round will suffice.
Wendy,Man Utd,Arsenal,Man City??:)

Why choose this game? They must be thinking:

Cambridge win - possible banana skin
Bury win - Blackwell against his former club.

Oh hang on a minute...

How is Bury V Blades in any way an appetite whetter?

The only condition is that your BT Broadband contract renews for 12 months from the date you do this.

To be fair i don't think any of the ties are...possibly Tamworth v Bristol City?

But considering BT internet is still really competitively priced and is still one of the better ones on the market what does it matter? You don't even have to have the Sky Sports package to have them either. It's free and would usually cost double figures. It won't be free any more from next season. BT will be the first to actually have a pop at Sky now you watch! Champions League all going to BT from 2015, World Cup coverage possibly going to BT and I understand BT are considering serious plays for decent Football League coverage which is why Sky jumped in and sponsored the Football League with Skybet to keep them in good stead.

On the assumption Cambridge beat Bury (not certain by any means), their form should give the Blades something to think about. Played 9, Won 9. Goals For 22 Goals Against 2. Should be a great match but got to beat Bury first and we don't want a replay in that game which could cause fixture congestion and ruin our chances of getting out of the Conference.

Yeh I've seen that but but my Sky broadband is much cheaper (£7.50).

I'm going to have a look into it but I don't think there's any way at all that I can get my current Sky TV package (or the channels that I watch anyway), plus Sky Sports, plus BT Sports, & broadband (obviously) without paying a ridiculous amount of money. The cost of subscription TV is obscene.

Whilst its always fun to see Uncle Rupert squirm, the new Champions League deal is in no way a "good deal" for fans.

Less football on Terrestrial
Another subscription to pay for.

What will be interesting is whether Sky now make a legal challenge to the exclusivity ruling that forced one or more of the PL packages to be sold to someone else. Clearly if the CL can be exclusive, why can't the PL???

Annoying time. If it's Bury I wouldn't be going so can watch it, but if it's Cambridge I'll be annoyed as makes travel way harder.

I understand your reasoning Billy, with regards to Cambridge, but unless Blacky is now employed as chief pie taster, I don't think the Bury explanation has much credence.

BT appear to be very confident that Cambridge will prevail.

ITV have first pick and chose that one.

BT Sports is free if you are on Virgin with XL package or better.

And so is Premier Sports until the end of the year and that is truly awful. Snooker in the 1970s on a black and white telly had better picture quality.

You tend to know these things :) - what's the crack if Bury and Cambridge draw their first match? Can they replay in time for us to still play on the 8th?

They play the first game on the 19th and Bury have a league game on the 26th.

Not sure to be honest Coops. FA Cup games take precedence over the league games so it may be that they replay on 26th and rearrange league game for week after, or they replay on 3rd December. Arrangement will be in place by both clubs for the following Sunday. Don't think in either case it is high risk so police arrangements won't be a problem.

camb utd have a few little boys who think they are something, at the mo! living in cambridge I get the gossip! They've not been involved in things for some time, but alot of the old boys, including the first hoolie to be locked up, the general, made a trip to aldershot and will probably turn out at lincoln! so with the blades maybe coming to town, and our past history here, it does have a little potential for trouble!

I was talking about the short term for the replay. Normally it has to be 10 days. For the 2nd round game both police in GMP and Cambridgeshire will be in place ready to go dependent on the result of the replay.

It's not awful if you're an ice hockey fan! I've paid for it for the last 2 years for that alone :)

In terms of us being picked, I had a feeling it would be when it was drawn out. We're away to a lower league side as one of the biggest sides in the draw, regardless of our league position. Plus 1 away win since March makes us very liable to an upset...
