Extra tickets for sty

Makes you wonder how SYP used to police all those games when both Leppings Lane and Bramall Lane were given exclusively to away fans at derbies.

Lesser numbers I know, but the tiny gap between Forest and Derby fans last night shows what can be done.

I’ve already said, within days the story will be WE couldn’t sell our tickets, not the massive. They’ll be on every forum in the land bullshitting again.

They’ll look tinpot on TV though.

Another issue is that I wonder what the EFL will be thinking when they see it on television.

The bottom tier holds 1,700 (that’s what Leeds were given). So 1,700 x average of £35 = £60K.

They are sailing straight into the turbulent waters of FFP.
I know £60,000 won’t do that much but why would they deliberately lower their revenue?
Wednesday fans will be expected to subsidise Chancers poor business acumen.

In the business world emotion and tit for tat responses shouldn’t come into it.
The fact is SWFC can easily receive £60K in revenue (sale of the bottom tier) but he doesn’t want it.
Don’t think Chancer realises that we can only give all away fans 2,200 tickets because our ground is too small for us.
If we had a capacity of 36,000 plus, then of course Wednesday and every club would get 5,000 on our away end.

I see you have Belfast Pig 2 on a lead over on PT.

Over 6000 seats ( inc Dole Corner) netted off .

Even his Grandad wouldn’t try to spin that one. :)

I don’t go on Owlstalk very often, I don’t gloat and don’t wind them up either.
Generally quite respectful as I feel like I’m a guest in someone else house.
Just go into correct a few comments when I see obvious errors.

It’s a flawed logic.
Let’s imagine Bramall Lane had a capacity of 60,000 and we offered every away club 15,000 tickets on BL end and on John Street too.

There’s no way McCabe would say “well your Leppings Lane end only hold 5,000 and that what you offer us”
“We would like 15,000 tickets when we come to Hillsboro like we offer you, it’s unfair”
‘So instead of giving you 15,000 tickets we’re going to restrict our away end and only offer you 5,000”

Meaning there’s loads of empty seats and lost revenue,
A child or emotional fan is happy with a tit for tat arrangement, hence the comments “fk em we don’t want em in our stadium”
but the lost revenue makes no business sense and at the end of the day Chancer is supposed to be a business man.

There'll still be around 1,000 empty seats in the upper tier even with the extra tickets. Bit daft considering they could do with the extra £s for FFP. Would be good to get clarification from either club as to if this is a police decision.

I’ve even heard Blades say we should give them both tiers at the Lane then we can have both tiers at S6.
But we can’t do this because it prevents out fans from getting a ticket.

Surprised there hasn’t been more made of this.
There should be a EFL rule that clubs have a pre-set away allocation and it stays like that unless there are special circumstance that would need authorising by the EFL.

Imagine the uproar if we only gave Wednesday 500 tickets in the bottom tier and when their fans say
‘Why can’t we have all the bottom tier”. McCabe replies “we don’t need the money so would rather have less of their fans here”.
It would be all over The Star and Radio Sheffield and the vindictiveness of our Chairman.

I’ll give a great example of the Chancer hypocracy.
Leeds United give all away fans about 2,500 tickets, that what Wednesday were given.

So how come when they played Leeds at Hillsboro Chancer didn’t give them 2,500 tickets too?
No instead they gave Leeds (even with their history of pitch invasions/ crowd trouble) both tiers,
so Leeds sold 4,600 tickets for the early season high risk Friday night game, also on Sky.

It’s a flawed/ selfish logic and more should be make of this in the local media.

Exactly.

Danny04 fancy picking the story up mate?

Not sure there is one, mate. They’ve given what they’re required to give by the rules and no doubt the police would have their say to stop 4,500 Blades there too

I honest don’t see why they can’t give us both tiers, it has happened plenty of time in the past without major incidents, efficiently separate both sets of fans, keep us in for 20 minute after the match whilst the majority disperse. Chansiri will benefit with getting the equivalent amount of cash as he would have done with the take up on an extra 50 club 1867 subscriptions and a couple of thousand more supporters get to see the game, as well as the empty bottom tier won’t show up on the television.

The problem here is SYP, I experienced first hand how West Midlands Police manage their games on Saturday, no coppers on every corner looking like they dressed up to go in to a riot. Coppers engaging the fans, being friendly and treating everyone as decent human beings instead of potential criminals and it made a huge difference. The people who are in charge of safety and policing matches in this neck of the woods have got a hell of a lot to learn

West Midlands Police used to be one of the most notorious amongst football fans but I agree with you, they seemed to have a far better mindset than SYP.

If its anything like last year they will have dispersed well before full-time :-)

I get that. But surely there’s also a story in questioning the police as well? Why was it possible to allow full away allocations before but they aren’t capable of it now? Why do they treat fans as criminals not supporters? Why are they so far behind other forces in their organisation, communication and engagement? Why do they feel the need to block off so much space for segregation when other forces don’t see it necessary?

There’s a huge opportunity for the local press to make a difference on the treatment of football fans. A similar campaign to the one run by your group of papers on the one north train thingy maybe?

Maybe a journalist could at least ask the police.
I'm stunned that not one journalist has picked up on the sponsorship of their club by non-trading companies.

I don’t suppose any nice chap with 1 spare 42500+ points loyalty number would like to swap it for 2 with 40000+ points would they? So people can sit together and all that :)

‘Sit’ together.!
There better not be any sitting. You’re on duty, standing proud and out singing the oinkers.
Although you are allowed a cheeky 15 minute sit down at half time.

Leeds United have one of the worse reputations in England for crowd trouble, it was only the other year their fan ran on the pitch and slapped the Wednesday keeper Kirkland.

So how come the Safey Committee would allow Wednesday to sell 4,600 tickets to Leeds United on a Friday night.
Surely this would be as equal a high risk game, maybe even more high risk.

Also how come the Police didn’t prevent us giving 2,200 tickets to Wednesday this season.
Surely it would be safer having let’s say 150 Wednesdayites in our lower tier.
They can meet up in a secret location then be driven in to Bramall Lane in an armour plated convoy.

There seems to be so much cloak and dagger, smoke and mirrors surrounding the Satety Committee.
Really think there should be more transparency regards how they make their decisions, especially when there’s so much revenue to be gained or lost, it leaves the door open to potential corruption.

What is the problem here?

Thank you W*dnesday for the extra tickets.

We've now got a few extra to sing a song which will now be slightly louder to try and "cheer up" Stevie Bruce, with the key line being "..........just a fat piggy bastard and a shit football team"

I did mean sitting in the loosest of terms :)

Last time, there was a load of bouncing twats under our lot.

Assuming that they aren’t doing that again (why?) then there is no good reason to not give us the whole end, just like Leeds has.

You could do with sending all your questions to the FSF pal. They would approach SYP for answers.

www.fsf.org.uk

If you send owt, let us know. They’re always good with stuff like this.

Anybody got 42.5 or 40 going spare would be willing to do sexual favors or buy you a drink drop us a message on here

Come on Danny of course there’s a story or, with all due respect, does the Star fear upsetting the blue half of the city? It’s quite obvious with the points made by other posters here that there is no logical and sensible reasoning by SWFC, SYP or on the grounds of safety that we should be denied the lower tier based on what has gone on beforehand this season. I appreciate though you hands may be tied ;)

You got it in one, plan is to wait until it happens at United and then unleash hell.

But why now? If they are allowed to sell around 3,000 today why not at the start, same area, doesn't make sense as to why they didn't from the start

Same person in charge of these as sales of their shirts I think
