No fear at all, it’s just not a story - just as it wasn’t when United only gave Wednesday the bottom tier at Bramall Lane. It’s their ground, their choice, as long as it meets league rules. And United knew this would be the deal at the start of the season, that whatever they gave Wednesday would be reciprocated.

Wednesday had 2,200 tickets whereas United will have 2,900 tickets You do have this thing about tit for tat reciprocal arrangement but don’t seem to understand that Hillsboro has 5000 extra seats so reciprocal allocations aren’t fair as Wednesday will have 5000 more tickets for their fans in the home end. This season they can’t get anywhere near selling those tickets so every other club gives spare tickets to away fans, where possible.

Do you accept that for the derby matches Bramall Lane is currently too small.

But let’s take a second to think about the real culprits - SYP. They want the fixture to disappear. SAG will also be all over it closing it down as much as possible. Blaming Chansiri is easy.

Be interesting if we got them in the cup, though. FA rules state, or did, a 15% minimum of capacity to away fans. So if we got them away from home we’d get both tiers.

These ‘extra’ tickets aren’t extras, either. United have always had them but until the decision to close the lower was reached, we’ve been unable to release them.

If Meeeester Dolphin killer wants to lose cash but save face - fuck him. Embargo, fine and potentially points deduction on the way.

The simplest argument for that would be £39 x capacity of lower tier. That’s the obvious maximum loss without adjusting for concession tickets.

I firmly believe it’s a SAG/SYP decision. Even though I hate the Wednesday bastards, I don’t think they’re to blame here.

Wendy get the lower at our place because we can sell tickets above. They’re not selling the lower but it will remain empty. Logic says sell them. But for whatever reason they aren’t. We cannot give them any more than they get at our place simply because there would be Blades unable to get seats. The same is not said for the forthcoming game.

Wednesday are due to play Leeds United on a Friday night, also on Sky.
They have a worse reputation for crowd trouble than us and have even invaded the pitch and caused stadium damage in recent matches at Hillsboro. Also Friday night is more difficult to police and a higher risk than a Monday night, more people and civilians in the city centre and more people drinking in more venues.

However the safety commotteee in their wisdom allow Leeds to take 4,600 tickets using both tiers of the Leppings Lane end.

There should be more transparency in these types ot decisions because there’s a big financial implication over a season and you sometimes find that where there’s money then there can be corruption/ bribes.

It's the biggest football game in Sheffield this year. Many thousands want to be there but the club won't sell them tickets. But there are 2,000-odd seats in the ground that won't be occupied. They could be sold, but instead they will remain unoccupied through the game.

Wouldn’t surprise me.....but then why the inconsistent treatment of SU fans
Makes you wonder if there are SW fans on the Satety Committee.
Would love to read their minutes, if they have them.

The Saftey Commitee should be professional and consistent making allocation decisions based on facts/ history to ensure safety.
It’s not their job to appease Wednesday fans and help them save face.

The clubs need to get together on this issue. It's simply unacceptable for our clubs to be losing so much revenue due to the powers that be. Nowhere else in the country has such draconian police. It's in the city's interest to have successful football teams.

Derbies up and down the country are anticipated and dreaded by rival football fans. Each will argue there's is the most fiercest. Yet take a look and you'll see fans separated by just a small gap or a line of stewards. Manchester, Glasgow, North London.

OK I'll offer an explanation. SYP have already been exposed as incompetents in running a major football match and there's stuff still going through the courts relating to the Hillsborough disaster, i.e. their ex-honcho on a manslaughter charge. Combine this with a football ground not fit for purpose and we have the situation we're in now. This is not an excuse, this is it folks, pure and simple and no one will challenge SYP/SAG's decisions because it's a poisoned chalice and would be professional suicide for anyone who intervened. We're the sorry fuckers in the middle.

Always made me wonder why often we’ll have a set of home fixtures.
We’ll give Reading 2,231 tickets, Ipswich 2,190, Rotherham 2,240, Villa 2,110, Forest 2,290.

Why does the away allocation figure keep changing by small amounts for every single match with no pattern or logic?
Why do we have so much netting all over the place, with front rows of the Bramall Lane tier and Bramall Lane upper tier never sold?

The whole thing is shrouded in mystery.
