I'm not insulting McCabe. I just think he is now being disingenuous about the structure and capabilities of the club.

What frustrates me more is the tolerance of my fellow supporters when good players are sold and poor players are bought under the smoke screen of yet another patsy.

Well while I thought - without knowing the dressing room info - we should have kept Brayford, I don't understand the loan deal. Or rather I do. We are holding on in case he gets his excellent form back and we have a sell on in the future. Well we clearly need the funds now and should have kept him, got Burton to pay his wages OR on every criteria let him go know for nothing to save all his wages to invest in the team.

I haven't read the term 'patsy' since I spent time on another forum which will remain unnamed as its full of uneducated nut jobs.

We clearly need the funds.

1. Wage bill cull.

2. Adams sale.

Why?

Another one that confuses showing attacking intent with "blowing teams away".

Well you know it's funny....because at Bolton we showed some attacking intent...as we did at times today...and at times against Rochdale and even Southend.
What we lacked more than anything is a calm head in front of goal, or a less selfish decision.

It's your definition of attacking intent....but for the point of argument, the three points I raised were examples. I didn't and couldn't be arsed to list all the comments muttered from some fans. Hence why the blah, blah blah. I am not confusing anything, that's you telling me I am.

It's clear. Still losing money. Come on, you know that .

But we're still going to be losing money next year and every year there is no extra to money. If kev and the prince had put extra money in for last few years they wouldn't be losing it now.

Thing is I don't like to criticise them because I can't match either of them for money and don't feel I can tell them what to do with it

Yep.

Yeah - I get that.

But seventeen thousand people. Season tickets and sponsorship. Player releases and wages added to the balance sheet. Modest signings from clubs at our level. Sale of one star player.

Losing money? Where?

and just to add, when McCabe took over, there was nobody else. We don't know where we would have been then and problem is because he has spooned money he wants something realistic back. He's not going to get it

You know what we lost in 2015. Guesstimate.

What do the accounts show? You Can have 14k season tickets all you like but when at least one third are OAP or juniors it's not really a money spinner and there is no tv. Of course you could make up for the short fall?

So...the club loses millions per year, but doesn't affect what you spend. I take it that you aren't an accountant.
Surely this is just a given anyway?

The losses the club makes annually should be kept separate to the playing side of things.

You seriously don't think the club should spend anything while the club is making a loss then?

My point was actually how you would separate the two. The playing side and the financial results are inextricably linked because it's the same business. If the income from the playing side can't cover the costs.......

Where are you drawing the line?
All I'm saying is that spending of transfer money etc. shouldn't be affected by the losses from other areas of the club. I'm saying the two should be kept separate, which they should. Or at least "treated" as such.

It was Sean Thornton who mentioned losses in reference to spending, not me.

So which part of the club is making money to allow you to spend money that the other doesn't have?

That's correct. But you commented on it without having a clue about what you're talking about.

Must have missed the bit where I said we were making money.

It's a pretty well known fact that most clubs outside the premier league make a loss.

Do you think they cannot or do not spend money?

And they split them from the playing side how?
The point was just that losses don't mean a club cannot spend. Which of course is true and something I presumed was obvious. If you knew most clubs outside the premier league make a loss and still spend, why mention losses with regards to spending in reply to pommpey's post?
