Jim Phipps Director has been on SSN, He says expect a new manager in the next few days. With him bringing in his own backroom staff surely it has to be a guy out of work as it takes more than a few days to agree compo with a club.

Well that depends on whether there has been behind the scenes discussion elsewhere some weeks prior.....

However, assuming that if a manager is already in a job and doing well and his current employer doesn't want to release him (them- incl management team) you might expect a hands off approach and that is likely to leak out? Thus one might expect someone who isn't in a job.

The other factor is double compensation. Its one thing paying Weir and Carsley off, another paying another club to get the management team too.

So it's Clough, Di Canio, Megson or Jewel then. :)

We need a manager who's going to put the ball in the box by whatever means that man is Tony Pullis!

Not Clough please. He's just a soggy rice pudding head. The likes of Doyle would walk all over him. I'd much rather have Pulis than Clough and if that makes me a lager drinking hoof lover then so be it..

Clough is excellent man and great manager he would do a top job here.

Not ideal for us and I would be unhappy with his appointment.

It is time for the Prince to splash the cash, show some real ambition and attract ( money talks) a manager who has a track record, experience and knows how to win something- and that is not nice Nigel!

I think the world has moved on a little SB( try telling Gary Madine!) but that was not the approach I was alluding to- although you can't blame Cloughie (snr) for hitting Keane- who wouldn't want to given the opportunity?

The appointment of Clough would put the nail in the coffin of "game changing" investment. Not that I expected it.

No completely the opposite what I do like is a solid back four with at least one of the full backs capable of getting forward , a least one winger, a captain/midfield general who orchestrates things, a midfielder who supports the front men, forwards who feed off each other and if the long balls on do it.
I bet you are a train spotter possibly a civil servant and drinks the odd red wine

I take it somewhere else on this thread you've offended Pinchy, perhaps by saying something outrageous like "get the ball into the box"?

I once wrote "score a goal" and we didn't see him for 2 weeks. I think he came out in a rash.

Interestingly enough I have had a message on FB and text that Clough is a racist and not to touch him. 1 person with no association to either Derby or Sheff Utd and the other doesn't even like football! Make of this what you will but do we have another Kendall on our hands
