From personal experience.

Guy who killed my nephew, he only had a couple, but when by total chance he found a cop car pulled out behind him he panicked. Was he under the limit? Hed only had 2. Was he over? He didnt know so he floored it.
After taking a 25mph corner at over 100mph his car had my nephew pinned to the floor. Ton and a half on top of a little kid.
Hardest part for me was watching the family stand around for news of how bad he was. I knew he was dead. I confirmed it by asking one of the fire crew that tried to save him. I had to usher the family into the house to break the news. I had to tell my sister her son was dead.

Most people think drunk drivers just lose control through being totally bladderd. That's not always the case.

I'm not after sympathy. Just relating the reality of "just a couple". And turned out he was just over.
He did 2 years. Lost 24 months of his life.
Little un lost all of his. :)

You might be a tad over zealous there Bill. I ride a bike sometimes, very considerately and like to think my life is not endangered by car drivers who stereotype cyclists as pests to be dealt with.😉
i used to ride everywhere as i couldn't afford a car. actually that is BS because my bike was worth more than a car but i have to say the standard of riding these days is dire and the road etiquette from cyclists non existent. they have become a supremely self entitled bunch. i'm always saying to myself 'can anyone ride in a straight line!?' these days. don't even get me started on the seats being too low and the penguin feet, riding up hills in massive gears.. all on 5 grand carbon bikes that they bought last week :)

I'm yer non racing type and wouldn't be seen dead in lycra ;)

What these donuts dont realise is that one day they will either kill someone or fck with the wrong "lycra clad idiot" who will fold em up like a deckchair. Plenty of mma fighters and boxers cycle as part of their training. I know a few down here. Loads of army lads in my town cycle as well.

Are they the ones wearing the tight pink or pale lemon?

Isn't it Talk radio at 6am talk about going out and how many they've had etc and the popping of cokes or pouring of drinks

Alan Brazil, not listened for years but always lots of talk about boozing escapades

It should be quite easy. If you drink even a half you should not drive. I have never ever had an alcoholic drink when I am designated driver. What’s the point in having one anyway?
Likewise, and when I was working on the post and starting at 5am I never had one the night before either unless I had a pre arranged lift to work the next day.

He was only in the slammer for one day!

If his appeal against sentence is unsuccessful he’ll have to go back inside. It happens all the time. If he wasn’t granted bail pending appeal he’d end up having served most, if not all, of his sentence before the merits (or otherwise) of his appeal have been determined.

Not having a go at cyclists here just pointing out what all too often happens, coming down from Owler Bar one Sunday morning (just been to Chatsworth farmshop), had driven past the the Former Fleur De Lys and the Cross Scythes pubs and was sticking to the speed limit (which I do try to do anyway, although in modern cars is actually becoming harder to do), I knew that the police had their ANPR/Speed trap van parked on the island at the bottom of Bushy Wood and Abbeydale Road South.
As I approached the final dip just before the junc's of Abbey Rd Sth/Totley Brook Rd/Bushy Wood a group of cyclists (about 10ish I think) both undertook and overtook me just on the corner in that dip where the road narrows to a single lane, of course the cops are not suddenly going to and can't jump out of the van as the cyclists would have been at Beauchief traff lights by then.
I have had this happen a few times and not just there, I know this does not represent the majority of the bicycle community but am afraid it is becoming more common, just as more and more car drivers dont know (ignore) what road markings and mandatory blue background roadsigns mean (again only a minority, but I will also apply that to a minority of Cyclists as well).

It’s a constant hazard in London. Not just cyclists but moped riders who are far worse. It’s not uncommon to be simultaneously overtaken and undertaken by kids on mopeds doing deliveries, whilst some tit looking at their phone walks out into the road without looking. I can deal with that if I know where I’m going but if I’m having to follow my satnav too it’s proper stress, you have to be so alert.

Funny that I dont see any wearing those colours. Must be in your imagination. Each to their own I suppose.

Find that hard to believe in the land that created the literary and televisual genius and beacon of intelligence that is TOWIE.

In that body cam footage you can see that he is absolutely wankered.

If he had provided a sample, I reckon it would have been pretty high. He’d have spoken to his solicitor on the phone and no doubt he was then mulling over his options with regard to his future employment, rather than his legal position.

Obviously he decided that ‘Dean Saunders three times over the drink drive limit’ would be more detrimental than ‘Dean Saunders in fail to provide mix up’

A ten week jail sentence was clearly not in the script though. Well done Chester Magistrates 👍🏻

At the end of the day, when you take to the wheel of a car, you are in control of a couple of tonnes of heavy metal that if you lose control of it you can kill and maim people.

The majority of Cyclists don't annoy me as it isn't hard to hold back and pass them quickly and safely giving them plenty of space. I've only had one incident with a cyclist when he tried to undertake me when I was turning left and just before I was about to manouvere I checked to see where he was and he hadn't stopped to let me turn, so I stopped and he stopped and told me I had nearly put him in to the side of my car, when in reality he was breaking every rule of the road.

What does get my goat are people who think it is acceptable to drink and drive. I've never done it, never will do. If I did decide to have a few pints one night and went out and killed someone and it was caused through drink driving, I don't think I could ever live with something like that on my conscience.

The only thing that annoys me with Dean Saunders is that he hasn't got longer inside, especially for his breathtaking arrogance.

I'm only half serious mate.
The bit about running them over.
I'll keep an eye out for you and only give you a gentle nudge with the pool cue I carry to poke cyclists out of the passenger window as I overtake!

Afternoon Vern...............

i once got disqualified for a time trial because i didn’t have white socks on . they wouldn’t let me ride .. fucking RTTC :D
Are they from Essex:D

I wish I could get that pissed on one Pint,be a reight cheap neet aht:D.

Arsehole is out already on bail, while they appeal the sentence.
Clearly if you are a celebrity in this country the law has a different set of rules for you.....out after 1 day, he could have killed somebody he was absolutely spannered......man in the street would have to do the time....what an absolute joke the criminal justice system is.

You've misunderstood how it works, the reason he is out is due to his appeal. If his appeal fails he will be required to serve the sentence.

I know exactly how it works......if it was you or I, we would not be getting out pending an appeal.....,the appeal would be prepared whilst incarcerated.
