So were the "dark forces" also at work at Stamford Bridge?
Had we held on they would have gone down regardless of what Segars did.
They wouldn’t. Had we drawn, Ipswich would have been relegated.

I’m pretty sure that if we’d won that game at Plough Lane it would have been 8 wins on the bounce which I think would have been a record. He did. Unequivocally the most blatant act of cheating I’ve ever witnessed. An obvious “bung”
Plough lane.
Was akin to the Harlem Globetrotters !

It was 30 years ago, but didn’t they get a 0-0 draw away at Blackburn that day? It was as nailed on a home win as you could get. Something also rings a bell that Liverpool rested 9 players in a game (2nd to last I think) against one of those threatened too. They wouldn’t. Had we drawn, Ipswich would have been relegated.
Fulham was the team you're thinking of if you're thinking of 2007 under Warnock. Not so sure on 1994It was 30 years ago, but didn’t they get a 0-0 draw away at Blackburn that day? Yep couldn't agree more I'm sick of the match fixing rubbish, look at the goals 1 is a penalty, ok may have been a dodgy decision but not segers decision, 2nd is an absolute worldy In top corner and 3rd is savable but nothing worse than grbic concedes every weekOh christ, not again.
There is no "conspiracy" to keep Everton in the Premier League and we weren't "cheated"
We were playing in a football match ourselves that day and like true fuckwits threw away a 2-1 lead with around 15 mins to go, we also fucked up the midweek prior to this by failing to beat Oldham Athletic.
“Beyond reasonable doubt”. There remains enormous suspicion that he was guilty, and anyone around at the time witnessing it thought so.So "not guilty" means he wasn't guilty of match fixing?

I think you’re projecting. Most people around at the time thought there was match fixing going on, and we would have benefited from the Fashanu incident. It’s quite possible that there was match fixing without believing it was a conspiracy to relegate us.So Liverpool, Everton, Chelsea and Ipswich are all complicit in relegating us In two separate seasons..![]()

There you go again. Another straw man.Oh he must be then if that's the case.So I'm clear Hans Segars is at fault for our relegation in 94 and there was a conspiracy to keep Everton in the PL?

My understanding at the time was that the allegations were about an overseas betting syndicate paying him. No conspiracy. Our relegation or Everton’s survival had nothing to do with it.Oh he must be then if that's the case.So I'm clear Hans Segars is at fault for our relegation in 94 and there was a conspiracy to keep Everton in the PL?
No. You aren't understanding, bless. To help you further so that it is crystal clear what the vast majority on this thread are saying:
1) United didn't help themselves on the day and lost the game in the last minute. Utd shot themselves in the foot as usual. Hans Segers by himself did not relegated SUFC. We agree on this point.
2). There was probably no conspiracy to keep Everton up from the PL, referee, or any other influencing bodies.
3) No other clubs including Wimbledon or Everton were in on any conspiracy to relegate SUFC that season.
4) Fashanu and Segers had some extremely strange performances around this time, and were involved on numerous occasions with hame changing events for Wimbledon FC. They in all probability, took financial bungs to throw games there were involved in, with one of these games in all likelihood being the Everton v Wimbledon match.
Clear enough for you ?
It doesn’t matter whether we had won or lost that final match v Chelsea. It was obvious to anyone with half a brain cell that Wimbledon handed that game to Everton on a plate, irrespective of our result.I'm not determined to do anything I just don't believe there's a conspiracy to keep Everton in the prem and send us down.
I went to 30 games that season and agree we did almost pull off a miracle given as usual the board fucked the manager over by selling our best player.
However as ever our destiny was in our own hands and we blew it and that isn't Everton, Segars or the FA Fault

I don’t really understand this post, but you keep asserting that people are talking about conspiracies and corruption aimed at us - very few (if any) are making that point here - yet you seem to want to repeat that with every post, no matter how many times it’s pointed out to you.My view is some Blades fans like to cling to point 3 that there is a conspiracy to keep Everton in the prem and harp on about it talking of "dark forces" do people realise how pathetic it sounds? Or put it this way if it happened to the pigs and they went on about conspiracies we'd be laughing our bollocks of at it.
Point one is my view and that's it.
I'm as entitled to believe there was no match fixing or bribes in a similar way that I believe the moon landings happened, covid wasn't a hoax and Michelle Obama doesn't have a cock

Goalkeeper took bribe, court told
A FORMER Wimbledon soccer goalkeeper, Hans Segers, paid £19,000 into a bank shortly after his team was beaten 3-2 by Everton …www.irishtimes.com
“A FORMER Wimbledon soccer goalkeeper, Hans Segers, paid £19,000 into a bank shortly after his team was beaten 3-2 by Everton in a vital Premiership relegation match, a court heard yesterday.
The cash was one of a series of payments totalling £104,000 allegedly paid to him by a Far East betting syndicate in return for him throwing games. "It was a match of crucial importance to Everton because it enabled them to stay up in the Premier division," the prosecution counsel, Mr David Calvert Smith, told the jury at Winchester Crown Court.l
It could easily be argued that he/all involved thought the Everton-Wimbledon result was of no consequence because it was assumed all others clubs, including us, would get what they needed from their own games. He let the goals in. If you recall, at the time Wimbledon’s defence was one of the best in the PL and Everton couldn’t score goals for, erm, toffee.
For what it’s worth, I’m fairly sure he didn’t do it to save Everton from relegation. That was merely an unintended consequence.
