Come om United stop this corruption happening.

"However, if Everton beat Sheffield United at Goodison Park on Saturday, the team could be certain of Premier League survival even if they lost a further nine points – fuelling speculation that the club could enter administration next week.

This would be a more beneficial option for some than others."

Surely this late in the year the deduction for admin would be given next season instead.

Should be immediate.

The rules should be set in stone too. No appeals etc.
Why did Everton get a big deduction, then have it reduced. Then have 2 more added? Why did Forest only get 4?

If rules were clearly defined everybody would know where they stand

Does David Conn not write for the Grauniad any more?

That article makes no sense. So if they go into administration, it is saying that RMF will be paid back (£225m), MSP will be paid back (£160m) and 777 may get some of their money back on top of that? What assets have they got? A half finished stadium, Goodison and a couple of decent players? In what world does that cover all that?

And of course there will be football creditors that will be paid first.

This has always been my take too.

In Singapore, where I live, there are a number of offenses which attract fines.

You might see “no smoking - $500” for example.

It’s pretty clear.

Much better than:

“no smoking - fee to be decided by an independent panel subject to appeal that can only achieve a more lenient outcome!”

😉

Recall Leeds filing for relegation days before last game of the season when they were 3 points and worse GD behind, so good as relegated - nice work chairman Ken Bates

10 point deducted immediately , meaning they started following year with no point deduction, wiped out debts to bank and local businesses

Administrators sold the clean slate club to…. Ken Bates - classy club

They changed the rules after that so if went into administration after a certain point in time, if the deduction meant no difference to the division being played in, the deduction would carry over to the next season.

777 are basically dodgy as, aren't they? Sure I read that this week

Yes they are like many other American finance groups. There are many posters in here desperate for them to take an interest in buying us. They don't understand that we need to be careful in what we are wishing for.

Well at least we’ll be ready for when they get deducted more points..err...Oh.🤦🏻‍♂️

Spot on

The turd that won’t flush. Hope they do go into Admin and I hope the points deduction is next season. Make it as difficult for them to survive as possible and they have to endure it for the full season

I thought their nine point deduction was a possibility for them next season not this season.

Yes Silent and the Prince has learnt his lesson regarding selling us.
We sailed close to oblivion with the two characters who tried to buy us.
Doing it right now hopefully, don't believe he ever wanted to leave us in the lurch! but sailed close to it.

The problem you have with that argument is what’s to stop a club already relegated going into administration with a couple of games to go and the subsequent points deduction would have zero affect on them.

You'll always get people "playing the system", as someone pointed out above re: Leeds.
Surely it's better to have clearly defined rules and punishments though 🤷‍♂️

In charge when Hertha and Genoa were relegated. Piss poor seasons for standard and Vasco too. Poisonous organisation
