Apparently we have depth in our squad. Not that I am objecting to the statement it is interesting to read a non Blade's perspective of our current setup.

I'm not so sure we have much depth in the squad either.
Centre-back and Left-back are really the only positions where we have guaranteed like-for-like cover (i.e. Hill)

If Long is out we're relying on the 40 year old Coyne.
If McMahon is out, it's Westlake who has struggled defensively at times.
If Doyle is out, we have Whitehouse or Harriot (neither experienced, neither defensive)
If McDonald is out, it's probably Robson but he can't last 90 minutes and it leaves a gap wide.
If Flynn or Robson is out, it will probably be Poleon. Who is an unknown quantity.
If Kitson is out. It's either Ironside or get Porter back if we're allowed to.
If Murphy is out. Forte will be fine once he's fit but in the meantime it's Poleon or Diego.

That's not my idea of strength in depth as there's simply too many unknown quantities.
Basically, we're desperate for our first choice 12 or 14 to stay (or get) fit. What are the chances?

I don't know about depth in our squad, but depth in Wilson's head in that picture cannot be doubted!

It needs a photoshop doesn't it. Dress him all in green and add a silly yellow hat and the outfit will fit the expression.

Imagine the reaction there would have been to this picture four games ago..!

Agent Wilson blah blah. Once a pig, always a pig blah blah.
How dare he share a joke with the Schweinsteiger etc....!

It says the article has been "modified". The modification involves adding the picture of Wilson and including the two paragraphs on United - none of which appear in the printed edition. All the other top teams are discussed in a paragraph each with their managers named but there's nothing on United other than passing references.

I wonder what's wrong with the Guardian these days; in their preview of the play-off final last season it was all about Huddersfield, especially their manager Grayson with United just getting a mention as the other team in the game. Wilson's appointment as manager the year before never got a mention.

It's all very different from December 1990. After all the jokes (eg. "If you launched a ship called "Sheffield United" it would sink immediately", eg "The next time the Sheffield United team run on to the field they are going to be arrested under the Trade Descriptions Act for falsely claiming to play football"), The Guardian had a sympathetic editorial following which we beat Forest 3-2 and went on a great run which led to us escaping relegation by miles. At the end of the season another editorial lightheartedly suggested that it was their December editorial which had provided the stimulation that we had needed.

True although it seems the same for other teams around us. Hence why its so close this season a few injuries to any of the teams around us and it puts a spanner in the works to their season. Hence Tranmere having their wobble recently. The teams really blessed with depth are the ones in the Championship and above as they can afford to have players sat around not playing.

was aware of the name but the stats are quite interesting , they , were too good for div 2 , but clueless in div 1, I had seen the all time league record table and wondered how wednesday were below us in overall standing by some way , but they tempered good seasons by being bloody awful the next, if you look at our relegations , they are always by a point , on the last or next to last day , wednesday got 24 points one year and fluctuate wildlt
