Fed up of this crap argument. I work in a bar and a geezer who supports villa chirps up "listen from someone who knows a thing or two youngster. If you get Europe you will be relegated".

Told him to worry about his own club. I want Sheffield United to go as far as they can. If Europe is too much then worst case scenario just play the youth team ffs. The prestige alone of European football will elevate the status of our club. Bitter jealous fucker.

What almost got them relegated was having Joe Hart in the net, he played 19 games and conceded 34.

Claiming it will lead to relegation is just as misleading as claiming it will have a huge positive impact financially/reputation wise etc.

I think because you have to start really early, if you’re in the early rounds, which isn’t going to be a problem next season. It can’t be a really long season when it starts in September and has to finish in good time for the Euros in June.
In actual fact, next season is probably the best time to be involved in the early Europa League rounds.

You mean like the first season in League 1 with Wilder would be bad for us, and the first season in the Championship would be bad for us, and the second season in the Championship would be bad for us and the first season in the Premier League would be bad for us. We also wouldn't have to play in the league cup. Like most blades I have seen us play in the third division more than the top division. I would love to see us play in Europe, potentially having a run like Fulham or Middlesbrough. How many teams playing in Europe have actually been relagated.

If our Premier League survival is as fragile as to made or broken by whether or not we get into Europe, I'd rather say fuck it and play some Europa league games and just bring our inevitable relegation forward by a year or two.

I've been to a couple of Europa League games and in my experience there are hardly any fans watch them, so think getting tickets will not be a problem (by virtue of the fact you can sit in the home end). Anyway, even if I can't get in I'd still go, the atmosphere around the town/city would be amazing.

It depends on boardroom backing and the seriousness given to the other cup competitions. If Wilder deemed it necessary to effectively tank the domestic cup competitions for one year, that would alleviate fixture congestion and allow us to pool our resources at the league and a european competition.
