Sky Sports understands Sheffield United defender Johannes Ertl is a target for German side 1860 Munich. The 29-year-old is back to full fitness after recovering from a cruciate knee ligament injury he suffered last March.
The Austria international returned to action in December, starting the FA Cup win over Salisbury and also making four substitute appearances in League One.

No cover at the back if he goes then.

Be a shame to lose him as he's a decent utility player. Doesn't really have a position though

I dont think I have ever seen him play well. If he does go then Im sure a replacement is sorted

IN DANNY WE TRUST

This is the sort of deal we need. A fringe player who is on good wages but won't be too tricky to replace. Hopefully we will get some money for him as well.

All about opinions and mine is he aint good enough

We've carried far too many of Ertl's type for far too long in my opinion.

He has the turning circle of an artic and the acceleration to match

If the enquiry is genuine, then I would let him go, provided we can bring a replacement in. We'd probably save a few bob at the same time with some of the salaries we're paying out at the moment.

Personally I think he's dreadful. No spacial awareness and can't run, personally I see we've linked with David Wier would rather have him at 42! And a player from the lower leagues

If we can ship him out (and even get some sort of fee) then we should do so. He is no doubt a high earner and whilst he is providing positional cover in several areas and could do a job at third tier level, he is limited and his contract his up. If we can get rid and bring in a proper CB then I would do so. If Weir (fuck me!?) comes in, then we might even use the free'd up cash for some pace (up front or out wide).

Ertl can go. A big wage for a bit-part player who has mainly been restricted to cameos. It's like paying Tom Cruise a vast fortune to play Third Mouse in Cinderella.

Except he isn't a high wage earner...I know what he earns and it isn't 6 figures.

True he was one of the cut back signings we first brought in on a free transfer.

I reckon he was on of the low earners on the books but if he is not in the first team picture then I guess its still money saved.

I think he is worth keeping as we literally have no time to look a for a permanent replacement. We have done well this season so far without relying on to the loan market to fill the gaps in the in team.

That's pretty much what ithought as well. I thought it was incredulous when people suggested he was one of the high earners

He's hardly playing as it is. Let one ofthe youth team take his squad place

Christ, another one claiming to know stuff about players, but won't actually tell us. Either part with the information or keep your "I know a secret" palaver to yourself. Please.

A touch hypocritical? Both you and Olle are claiming Ertl is on a big wage yet you know nothing of the sort

Be it a large or small wage let him go he isnt good enough for the Championship. Come to think of it he isnt good enough for league 1 either

I assumed he was because he's a footballer, and not a young academy prospect at that. I have no proof. I never stated that I knew what he was on - Ghandi did. Either way, if he's on much more than £400 a week it's been wasted.
