They could all just go wherever they were hiding the week after our best performance last week against cov

Nice to know they are alive and well though I was getting a bit worried

It's their way of deflecting blame away from their preshy weshy Yooonited and preshy weshy one of our own Wilder

The fans that made the trip put a hundred times more effort into yesterday than anyone else connected to the club, especially considering some of them will have worked a night shift on Friday, and some will be at work today

They have a right to watch a team that is at the very least making an effort to try to win, instead of only trying to wake up after we go 1-0 down

If Oxford had not scored when they did the second half would have been as slow, boring, turgid and mindnumbing as the first half

We might then have got a result, but FFS who wants this shit almost every game ?

The stadium absolutely cannot sell out no matter what position the club is in, or how vitally important and massive the game is

The stadium is also silent, no matter how important the game is, something that would never have happened in previous years

If that doesn't tell the owners anything they are as stupid as the team and Wilder
Yes, because I'm a renowned clapper and Wilder groupie.

The football this season has been poor. Worse than the Hecky promotion as well used to moan about them only playing well for 45 minutes. Halcyon days! We've been effective this season but there's no style of play or great plan. But we've vastly overachieved considering where we were in June.

Atmospheres are shit at most grounds. Because football is much more boring now. Not just the tippy happy sideways passing but the physicality being removed from the game. Plus, everyone now has a phone, so no longer is their focus 100% on the game. Plus, there is more of an expectation now that paying £45 entitles you to be entertained.

Don’t think it’s being ‘entitled’ to be unhappy with yesterday’s performance. Looked sluggish and unprofessional, against a team of players that were supposedly inferior. This team don’t have the mentality to get automatics and certainly won’t win the playoffs.

It's of course not entitled to be upset with a performance or result. It's not entitled to be unhappy with a manager or players.

It is entitled to throw your toys out of the pram any time we don't win a game and act like the sky is falling in. And then make derogatory comments about the opposition because of how much money the club has.

It's very Wednesday behaviour.

In hindsight this was an upset waiting to happen. It was very windy, it was a dry hard pitch, a 3 sided ground and we were up against a side really up for it.

The disappointment is exaggerated by the fact that we had our best performance of the season 8 days ago, had a full squad to choose from and Leeds were continuing to fall apart following the Luton result.

What was frustrating for me is the tone of the game was set early and we never adapted. I would have had Brewster and BBD off at half time for Ohare and JRS and gone 3 at the back by bringing Holding on and pushing Burrows into left wing back. Instead we carriesd on as we were and before we knew it there was only 20 mins left and they held on.

However we are still second and promotion is in our own hands but I'm worried we've given Leeds a boost and rather than them having their arses twitching they are now just a point behind us instead of the 4 they would have been expecting when they got on the coach to drive home

The OP is accurate - that's what really hurts.

I'd like to say it's an online bubble but you go to the Lane these days and the place is full of Veruca Salts who contribute nothing but bile and negativity. This has been the case for over a decade, but it has reached its zenith now. Our players should be commended for essentially going on stage in front of a negative, entitled, hostile audience every fortnight and getting a positive result more often than not

Getting a result away from home against a team fighting for their lives has never been an easy thing to do. It seems people have forgotten that due to the outstanding away record of the current team. Oxford beating us at home in April isn't a big shock. Maybe focus on the brilliant away form rather than crapping yourself in public over a rare defeat would be an idea.

Yesterday was pathetic. I'd rather not dress it up as anything else

Seriously, when did we become such an entitled fanbase? Literally every time we don't win now we get a forum full of hysterical posts.

We're second in the Championship with half a dozen games left. Most people would have settled for the playoffs this season.

These entitled hissy fits are getting a bit embarrassing now. Fans from other clubs looking at this forum must think we have such a poor fanbase.

Lets not even mention shoutbox....
Just in't S2 wiout a good meltdown.

I think it’s been like this for a while. Ignoring the Pigs and trolls who for some reason think they are rattling people it just seems more obviously odd because of our league position.

Completely agree with this
Be easy for the players to throw in the towel and wonder why they bother but they are mentally tough and proud and have got used to playing in front of a stadium full of too cool for school fanginas

Surely a discussion about how and why we lost a game that we were heavy favourites to win is to be expected on an online forum dedicated to Sheffield United?!

Surely it’s expected that some people aren’t happy with it, I worry more about the mentality of the “aww shucks we lost, never mind” people. I’m not really seeing a meltdown, just a lot of comments about a piss poor performance.

Of course we could win the remaining games and it’s just a blip but the nature of some people is that they expect us to screw up and moaning about ‘entitlement’ isn’t going to change their mentality.

The few extremists don't represent the masses. Most people haven't commented on social media or forums. They just put the telly on and order a take away

Edit: if the extreme views were the ones that represented everyone, then I would have quit school at 16 because 'maths is gay'
WTF !!!!!

you saying maths ISN’T gay ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

If you want to be the best you can be you have to think like the best. Some take it too far but for me it was more the performance as a whole.

Of course, calling for the head of your manager when you started the day top of the league is entirely reasonable.

This isn't about criticising the performance or the result, it's about the people who seem to think the sky is falling if we don't win a game.

It's not the reaction, it's the over-reaction. If you want to know what that looks like, have a little glance in Shoutbox when we're losing.

That’s the odd idiot though, the odd polar opinion on a forum where different views are discussed isn’t exactly a huge surprise. Would you rather everyone just nod along and agree on every matter?

Obviously the mobile phone hasn't arrived at Leeds yet or the towns where at least fifteen other Championship teams play

Preston never do anything......EVER, but even they create a better atmosphere than our fans

It's not our fans that is the problem, it is the nervous, nail biting, tense situation that the team, presumably with Wilders tactics inflicted upon them put the fans through

A good atmosphere cannot be created because the fans cannot ever relax knowing that a game is safely over and won.
