Thank you Danny Wilson.

We're not a great side obviously, not a good standard of opposition obviously, but we're trying to do it the right way in my opinion.

I think today we had our best side on the pitch.

I wish we had a speed merchant on the bench (or starting) but I am enjoying watching football.

We should sign Rochdale's sub if he cannot get a game for them.

Can't disagree with that, but only minor criticism's are that we try and try and play too much football, lack a bit of pace, and today we could and should have scored 6.

To be honest, there's nothing about our football that excites me. If this was what we'd been waiting for I'd be really disappointed.

This is no dig at Wilson. To get the side that was relegated into this position takes some doing and is to his credit. I'm more than happy to give him time to make the transformation. But I'd hate to think that some form of transformation had already taken place.

You didnt go to watford then when we lost 3-0,, that was abject today was ,,,,,, nice

not going overboard , but the green shoots of a passing game are popping up

I did, I was in the pub before the third, planning a night in the smoke.

Green shoots, yes, agreed. But miles away from anything like a product.

As I said, no problem from me. It was always going to be a big turn around. To be in the play offs is a massive boost. Keep it up and all that. But if we played the same way in 2 years time I'd be gutted.

I agree with Blade Too Long and Alco. Green shoots but a long way to go. We're on the right path with DW. Let's hope January allows a couple of steps forward.

Your man McDonald showed some good stuff today I thought. Still question his engine mind.

Great in patches today once we got on top. The sheer mediocrity of this divison is so apparent. MacDonald looked very good today, maybe consistency is his enemy?

Pinchy, I think you'll find we take a step backwards in January from a key player point of view (no not Monty mate :))
Just who will score us the goals from that point is the worry.

Green shoots??? Last season we won 11 games all season, we've already reached that figure and only played 20. We are 4 points short of our total for last season and have only scored 6goals less than we scored all season. Considering we came into the season shot of all confidence, I'm highly delighted with the position we are in and, on the whole, the performances. People have very short memories. The fare served up last season was utter shite, this is a massive improvement. Provide we keep the nucleus of our players, hopefully this will continue. Unfortunately Ched is the key and I suspect he won't be here.

Last seaosn v This season

There has been improvements but we have to temper things and say some of the opposition has been truly woeful and accept the better results and performances are largely down to the division we are in rather than any massive changes Wilson has made. However, I would say that I do think he is doing a solid job and with the personnel he has and when you look at Preston etc and how some others have struggled first season down; Charlton and Wednesday last year; we have surpassed expectations in terms of results and position in the table. I think Wilson has qietly gone about his job well and feel he is gettng as much out of this team as we can really.

I do honestly think with this side and how we are playing though that if by some chance we were in the Championship we would be around the bottom 6 or 7 as per last season. The likes of Cresswell, Doyle, Monty, Evans, Simonsen, Lowton, Collins were all regulars last year when we finished in the bottom 3.

Those who think we have a much better side than last season or are playing scintilating football are kidding themselves but what Wilson has done has made us a bit more solid and in recent weeks gone back to basics. At times there are smatterings of football but it is hard for us to show different angles to attack due to the dearth of speed in the side. Yet, I would take a win over how we play any day of the week and not too bothered how we win but I have concerns that we would be able to beat the better teams in the division (as evidence by the results at home against the top 3)

Yesterday like many of the previous games such as Chesterfield, Carlisle etc was a pretty horrible game of football to watch. It was great to win and to keep a clean sheet but as I have said the opponents were dire. They just tossed the ball away everytime they had it and we barely had to work for a comfortable victory. Still you can only beat what is in front of you.

Pleased with recent form even if performances have been so-so. If we get Beattie and Morgan fit post Xmas, sign a bit of pace (a Clarke or Phillips type) then you never know but I cannot see the top 2 dropping many points. Wenesday are an even more horrible side to watch but the way they play and the giants they possess mean they will probably go up as they will outmuscles and over power most teams and then the few skilled players they have will make difference.

We will be tested next week at Bournemouth , who have impetus from investment thats brought in fresh faces that overturned Huddersfield yesterday
A true test of our status next week what with Wendies playing Huddersfield

If Simmo and the boys can keep yet another clean sheet the green shoots will be starting to bud

god you have to put some manure on to get things to grow dont you

You missed the bit about us playing in the third division this year.

:)

Oh, aren't we still in the Championship? I hadn't realised. :) PS I'd rather be in the third division and go to games expecting to win, than in the second expecting to lose every week. My mother always said I had no ambition :)

Agreed, Hopefully we'll get our act together over the next year or so and be expecting to win every week in the Championship.
