England squad for upcoming Euro qualifiers due to be announced at 2pm. With Gareth Southgate being at the Palace and Leicester game, are we expecting any Blades to be called up? Only really Henderson I can see being called up atm. Jack won’t be too far off either I imagine.

Tyrone Mings is in the squad (?!) so a) O'Connell won't be, but b) he almost certainly will be in the not-too-distant future.

Edit - didn't expect Jack to be in the squad anyway, but Mings is a big surprise.

Henderson may go as 3rd choice GK. Don’t think JOC has shown his best yet so unlikely.

Mings is so overrated. But like BladeInIreland has said, O'Connell not been at his best just yet, so doubtful.

Henderson would be the best shout. Him Pickford and Pope.

O’Connell is a much better player than Mings. Had he been sold for 20m in the summer then I suspect he’d be getting called up instead.

Engles > Mings

England can fuck off if Mings is there frankly.

Disgraceful.

Not that I think JOC should be in it this early either, but Mings hasn't even been one of Villa's better defenders in the two games of theirs I've watched.

Mings will be favourable because of being left footed. But the hype over him after half a good season in the Championship is ridiculous.

It’s like someone said in a different thread, why put a 33 year old GK for third choice. May as well give the experience to a younger lad.

Wank.

Lingard is in, fuck knows why.

Wan Bissaka? Based on what? Playing for Man U? He was way better at Palace and couldn't get near the senior team.

Midfield looks as lightweight as it gets.

Confirmation that the England manager picks the team on hype levels, hairdos and sponsorship deals.

I'm pretty sure Wan Bissaka would've been in the Nations League squad in the summer if there hadn't been the U21 tournament which Southgate presumably wanted him to play in instead. Same for Maddison.

Lingard is baffling though, I'm starting to think he's made a career out of people believing he's still 21-22 (he turns 27 in a few months).

I'm sure this will prove a popular opinion, but Grealish really should be in this squad by now, don't @ me

I've watched Man U a couple of times this season and I really didn't rate Wan-Bissaka to be honest, good at blocking but not the best with the ball, and I watched the U21 tournament and wasn't overly impressed there.

It's not that I feel like United players should be there, and you'll know more re: stats but I just think that's a shocking selection.

Lingard though, yeah, I like him but he'd be more use as a pundit than a player at the moment, his form for the last 12 months or so is shocking.

Just annoying that so many get overlooked at "unpopular" teams, doesn't say to me that the manager is looking for the best.

I would have had Grealish in over Mount too.

Choudhury at Leicester another one unlucky not to get a call up.

I think Lingard has made a career out of hard work and selfless running. He can be a bit inconsistent on the ball but you’ll always get a shift out of him. Football doesn’t change much, you’ll always need someone to do the unflattering stuff.

It always surprises me how Kane get's in against Newcastle he was like a Princess with a navvies prick, Mount, Mings & Maddison are good call ups. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain I thought he'd been injured months HTF can he get straight in squad.
