Living on the south coast I have friends who are season ticket holders at Fratton park. They all speak very highly of this lad.
Some comments that stuck in my mind from a chat earlier (after seeing the rumour on here); Fabulous crosser, fittest bloke in their team who runs up and down the flank all day long, Mr reliable last season rarely had a bad game, would walk it in the Championship (and deserves it after last season), huge prospect who earned his move to a bigger club.
By the way they all fancy having McNuts back in their side for next year and for what it's worth, also applauded Doyle for a proper Captains role during the last couple of seasons. UTB.

Nice Gretsch in your avatar, White Falcon?

And for the same price we could have signed Brian Kidd, Charlie George!

Or Frank Worthington!

We were all set to sign Francis Lee. Then the board balked at the fee for a player of his age (no re-sell value) and his wages. So went for the prolific Southend front man instead!

Well, if he's not signed by nah, he's not keen enough on coming to the Lane and Wilder's made a rick! Wilder aahht!;)

rekon him and thomas will be announced as a double signing probably why were holding out on mentioning any news about enda stevens for a bit

It's rare that a L2 player would be offered anything close to 10k p/w so to me that indicates we're certain he'll make the step up to the Championship and we really want to make sure we sign him.

Again, I have to say I think some may well be over estimating the wages he is already on.

He has just left league two, at a club that now runs a tight ship. Granted, attendances are good for that level but sponsorship and tv money is bugger all.p

2k a week is pretty much the most he will be on at Pompey, and I reckon 7k a week is about average for the championship.
There aren't many players earning over 10k a week, other than the stupid fuckers that opt for the spend big or bust technique it will be about that at most clubs. There may be a few with premier league relegations hanging over their heads, but the majority of clubs don't fit in that bracket.
So for those clubs chucking way in excess of 7k at players, there has to be a fair few well below the 7k figure to average it out.
As for the blades, I reckon most will be on or around the average. We won't be spending too big.

A squad of 24 on 7k a week is a yearly first team budget of £8.5m. If we top £10m I will be surprised. Anyway, still a nice job if you can get it.

If he's on 2k at Pompey, almost trebling would be about 5k.

Not outrageous.

He will have been on at least 2.5k p/w at Portsmouth.

When assembling that squad a couple of years ago they spent quite big for L2. The likes of Doyle and Gary Roberts won't be on less than 3k. Stevens was quite a big signing too so I doubt he'll be on much less.

Reckon we'll be paying him 6-9k p/w.

If we just offered something like 3-4k then I'm sure he wouldn't have made the decision to sign for us before the middle of May.

Just to put that into context I understand Wednesday are paying at least 5 players over £30,000 p/w
If Fletcher really is their highest, I bet he's on around 40k.
Good god, how many Billys could you get for that!?

Never ceases to amaze me how people still hang on Magic Mike's every tweet.

Stevie Wonder blindfolded can see through some of his stuff. A Portsmouth shareholder? How many on here have shares but aren't party to transfer talks.

My mate is a Pompey fan and sent me the link last week that someone put on here. Now Strappy edges his bets.

Strappy?

Let's be straight Portsmouth won't be paying a left back in league 2 3k a week.

No one knows if his wage has tripled but we know it will have taken a significant improvement as he's now a championship player.

He will be in line with unproven player wanting to make the step up and his wage will match accordingly.
