Enda Stevens showboating/making a mug of people thread

Enda is a top 8 level player. His only downside is he does give silly freekicks away at times in dodgy areas.

With the ball at his feet, he's as good as any wingback in the prem.
His other downside is his name. Enda? So far so good. But he needs to change his surname to Stevensio and the 'pundits' would be tossing themselves off.

He's come on leaps and bounds since signing for us. It's not that long ago that he was getting pelters and some suggesting that he was no better than Danny Lafferty! I felt there was a step change in his play when Norwood arrived. In fact both wing backs work very well with Norwood. Norwood's exocet passes wouldn't look half as good if George and Enda weren't expecting them, but they obviously have a good understanding and more often than not, the ball seems to land right on their toe on the run. Enda has carried on where he left off at the end of last season and is in superb form.

I think the most important change in his game is that he is now getting his head up and picking out players in the box (as in Robinsons goal) rather than just hopefully playing the ball across the six yard line as happened too often last year.
Its not just Enda though other players are also stepping up to the challenge. I think CW has been dispensing the confidence pills.

Dont think it's showboating, dont think Wilder would put up with it. What it is, is excellent play from an underrated wing back. Agree that he and Baldock's final ball seems to have improved, but it needed to at this level. Personally I'd always have two wing backs that could defend first and be able to get forward second and in Stevens and Baldock I believe that's what we have.

His name is quite fitting though,as he must have just about ended ( or Enda'd) Azpillacueta's Chelsea career.

Both full backs seem to have found an extra gear in terms of quality this year. Special mention for Stevens after this weekend. Confidence comes from the team as a whole and I bet Stevens would be the first to admit he wouldn't be trying the stuff he is without having complete faith in those around him. Great to see a lot of the players starting to properly express themselves on the world's biggest stage. They've earned it and we, as a club, deserve to be right up there. Great times to be a Blade.

Fuck off
No quality
Nothing to see here
Basic stuff
Destined for relegation

Good to look back to this previous thread-

Oh that's quite tame, go back a year prior when he was getting pelters. You'll find me staunchly defending him back then.
