A mate of mine, who's a Wendy season ticket holder, found this photo from when he took his class on a school trip to Bramall Lane - must have been '94. I remember going to the first game after it was rebuilt - Tranmere Rovers in '96? Told him it looked better than the rust bucket in South Barnsley looks now. And look at those floodlights!

Our ground has changed so much since I started supporting them. I remember going in the Tudor room (I think it was called) for a cheese sandwich and a pint when I was 16, I remember (just) the cricket pitch etc. One of many reasons I fell for and love our club.
I always thought the small John Street stand made BL and the new stand look bigger. Weirdly, now they’re roughly the same height the ground seems smaller.

A hell of a lot has changed since then with the ground , around the ground , and life in general.
When you look at that photo you can see the high rise flats , now there are various buildings all around the ground especially that Chinese development that going up now, if I had a time machine I would love to go back to when that photo was taken , life was so much better back then ( in my opinion anyway ) .

Our ground and surrounding area has moved on greatly and continues to do so, the approach to the lane looks more and more impressive and as I have said on a previous post our owners ought to sieze the opportunity to improve our facilities and get the floating and overseas fans on board while S6 slips further down.
