Behind the posts, loads of empty seats. Anyone know if these were left unsold or if people just decided to stand at the back instead? Be a shame if they are left unsold with loads of blades fan’s asking for spares all week. Just sell them as restricted view for a bit cheaper, better than watching from home.

We are almost in 2020.
Get rid of the ridiculous stanchions and modernise the kop.

Agree. Only when the Kop is finally modernised and brought up to date, will I feel that BL really is a top class fit for purpose ground. It's already a wonderful place that goes without saying, but it does need the Kop upgrade and to lose them poles to really finish off the ground. The upgrade of the SS would be great from a commercial aspect, but the Kop is crying out for being updated / rebuilt.

First things first though. More money spent on thr team and squad, and get that training ground made fit for purpose.

For the training ground, I would like to see us move onto a purposely built new site which has more space and scope, and let the SUFC ladies have the Shirecliffe site.

What about a new training ground somewhere off the Parkway perhaps near the old Sheffield Airport site? There should be plenty of accessible cheap land available around there and easy enough to get to for the personnel.

Take the poles of the Kop. Bish bash bosh, easy as that.

I had lots of empty seats near me on the left side of the top yesterday. Maybe they were standing at the back? Despite not having Restricted view seats, we didn't have visibility of any of the goals at the top end.

There were also people coming and going throughout the game, leaving their seats empty for long periods. Particularly 3 chinese guys, expensive designer clothes, blingy jewellery, boy band haircuts and very little apparent interest in the game. They wandered to the front, they wandered to the back, sometimes they just stood in the isle, chatting with their backs to the game.

We certainly seem to attract an eclectic mix of people nowadays.

Or sell to away fans for hundreds as discussed on one of the other threads...problem solved and more money for the club, result

I would be interested to hear from any architects/civil engineers or anyone else in the know whether it would be relatively simple and quick to replace or alter the Koop roof structure to enable the pillars to be removed. I know that ideally the whole thing needs rebuilding but in the short term I think there are other more pressing things to do (as others on here have mentioned) and rebuilding the Kop would I think mean having a reduced capacity for some considerable time whereas altering to remove the pillars could I assume be done relatively easily in the close season.

Large flat sites are difficult to find round sheffield due to the terrain.
There,s some good flat areas round Bawtry rd , whether big enough to upgrade on Shirecluffe is another matter. The vastness of these new training complexes will be difficult to replicate in and around Sheffield.
We may have to find somewhere a distance from sheffield to get what's required.

They do exactly that (sell them). Then people who buy them stand at the back of the Kop, because the view and atmosphere is better.

I take the three kids to games on the Kop. Two of them stand on the back of the seats in front of us, so we only really occupy two/three seats, so if a friend wants to come I tell them to buy a RV ticket and then just stand in our spare. I'd imagine a few others do that too?

I think it could be a relatively simple a job to remove the pillers, though I'd say any planning would have huge factors for safety driving up the costs.

I was stood at the back, as always but my seat is further down.

Please can we just secure prem status before the Lego comes out.
Incase nobody has noticed, our owner doesn't own our ground at the moment, so forget any building work, he needs millions to buy the place before he can spend millions, he probably doesn't have, on it!!

The money should be made available to Wilder to keep us up, build the team up and look to getting us safe, and in better shape for next season.
Next, buy the properties, we need to pay attention to who puts up any funding for this, because, although we all love the lane, and understand it's relevance and history, non Blade business types couldn't give a shit, and i for one don't want the ground being pulled from under us, leaving us with some God forsaken bowl on a retail park somewhere within 20 miles of Sheff!!
Then we can start thinking about a new kop, but until then, sit somewhere better if it's a problem, there's room in the Pukka pie corner for a few, or you could moved to one of the nice bits if you really want a change.

Surely someone can just get a hacksaw and cut them off. 🤣

Get The Crab Construction company to come and sort it out.
Or we could support the roof with some of the skyhooks that Crab Industries is selling.
I have loads in my garage, next to the Tartan Paint Crab flogged me.
