Is anyone aware of his situation or whether he's still in the academy/playing for the U21's?

I remember him coming in as a scholar and having hopes that he would be able to push on and become that tall, strong, athletic centre back we've been desperate for.

I refuse to believe he's no more talented than Jay McEveley. And although he had one fairly average game of which I praised him for, he can't be any worse than Harrison McGahey in terms of technical ability. McGahey barely looked a professional football player on Saturday.

Without wanting to fast track a players development, we must be looking to bring these sorts of players through.

Especially given how unbelievably short we are of a player in his mould.

He was an unused sub for the side that lost 4-0 at Bolton? I think it was recently. May have been U18's though not U21's

I did also notice there was an Adebowale playing for Sheffield FC a month or two ago and wondered if it was the same one? I know if players are sent on youth loans they can play for their parent clubs development teams too so assumed it was a deal that may have slipped under the radar..

Edit. Came on as a 90th min sub for U21's v Hull today..

Thanks.

It would be good if anyone that watches these sorts of games could offer their assessment of him.

It would be interesting to compare his technical ability to the likes of McEveley.

Whatever happend to that kid who won Vietnamese soccer Pricnces?

Thanks.

I like him, but still very raw.

Seems to be behind the likes of Banton and Evans at present so can’t see him troubling the first team any time soon. Does anyone know how old he is? I gather he’s a big lad from Barny’s description but can’t say I know owt about him.

I see the U18’s got past Bradford on penalties to reach the next round of the FA cup last night. Callum Semple and Shea Gordon (captain) were the two I’d heard of in the team. I know both have been tipped as prospects. Does anyone watch the U18s at all and have any opinion on whether any look particularly exciting? I saw Jorome Slew was on the bench too he was tipped to be better than Jordan at one point. Any ideas how he’s progressing?

I think Jorome Slew and Danny Ramsey are the only two out of those born between 1/9/97 and 31/8/98 (my son's year) from the squad that has been in our Academy for more than 5 years. Both were named as subs last night. Unless one of them or both of them were carrying knocks, it is an indication that they are not seen as one or two of the best prospects we have. Brodie Litchfield played in the Sheffield Junior League (my son has played against him) in his early teen years and has joined our Academy last summer. He started in last night's match so he must be seen a better prospect than Danny or Jorome? Perhaps playing in the competitive junior league matches toughens up players more than in the Academy matches?

Nowhere near ready yet, Adebowale's a second year scholar. Banton and Evans are quite rightly above him in the pecking order.

Ramsey's a tidy player, I like him but he's not been getting much of a look in this season. Not sure if he's injured but Tyler Smith seems to be playing well in his position and we've had a couple of wingers on trial. Slew is quick and strong but doesn't have much of an end product and his work rate isn't the best.

We do have a couple of good young lads who I can see breaking through though. Not necessarily soon but in a year to 18 months when they've developed.

Isn't Litchfield the one we signed from our community education programme designed to help kids get back into the game when they've been dropped by academies? Think I read a story about that a few months back.

It's the United Futures programme which I believe is for 16/17 year olds who haven't been picked up by academies.

He was signed from the development squad which is a "step away from the Academy" and they are alowed to play in the Sunday Junior league and for their schools. I remember Brodie playing for Ecclesall Rangers

Don't know how old he is but he's the one in the middle below.

Currently unattached i think after Tottenham cancelled his contract, doubt he'd drop to league 1 though and will want 20k + a week i'd expect. ;):p

Can anyone who watches him answer these questions:

Is he technically more able than Harrison McGahey?
Is he technically more able than Jay McEveley?

Without having seen him, I would hazard a guess that a 'yes' to at least one of those is very likely.

If that's the case, why's he not in the squad? If the answer to that is 'It would harm his development' or words to that effect, then why are the likes of McGahey, Kennedy, Dimaio all in the senior squad? Surely their development is being hampered too.

No to both. And he's 17.

Why surprising when you havent seen him play?:confused::confused::confused::confused:
Because this is just a made up point to try to establish some credibility as a Blade after being accused of porcinity. Just pick some random kid whose name is already on a thread about the kids and make out you're interested in him.

Do you even know what you're talking about? I was the one that suggested him on the other thread.o_O

Because I've seen both McGahey and McEveley play and I know how utterly terrible in terms of technical ability they both are.
Apart from starting a thread about how good McGahey was, after the last time you were accused of being a pig.

Didn't I mention about that in the thread's main text?

It might of benefit to actually read a post before you think about looking silly by commenting on it.

I agree. I'm just pointing out a pattern. You get called a pig. You start a thread about McGahey praising him, like you've been to the match, even though a couple of other posters had already commented on how he surprised them by playing well. Then you go back to criticising everything the club does and says.
So you get called a pig again. Then you start a thread about some kid, whose name is mentioned in the match report copied and pasted on here, like you're some big fan of his.

Coincidence?

Disagree, McEveley has weaknesses at centre half, but technical ability isn't among them. Regarding McGahey, due to his build it is easy to forget that he's only just 20, and in terms of positioning, reading of the game and decision making he's got a lot to improve on. If he gets regular first team football I think he'll be a much better player in two or three years.

Exactly, McGahey has all the attributes to be a good defender and his deficiencies are in his head. He'll learn from experience if he's prepared to work hard and listen to his coaches.

Absolutely not actually. There's been pig accusations every time something I say is disagreed with. I suggested another youngster Jake Wright in a thread quite a while ago. Does that mean I'm a pig as well? How does it make me a big fan of his to ask where he's at in his development? What a fucking dumb thing to say. Oh and who are you to say whether I've been to the match or not? I rarely get annoyed at some of the things posted on here but that line has come the closest.

Transparent.
