EEL

Agree. At the risk of upsetting folk for not "trusting Wilders judgement",I have doubts about this guy.
One reason above all others.
If he isn't deemed good enough for a mediocre Championship outfit I don't see him as good enough for us.
I think the contract he got whilst playing well on loan with us was purely to secure a bigger than appropriate fee for him if we looked to sign him long term.

Not that impressed with EEL . Was prone to fundamental mistakes in league 1 so no idea what he would be like in the championship . Bloke not pulling any trees up at Wolves .
If he does come to the lane , it's because he's cheap compared to others , right age , and better the devil you know .
Lamberts buggered off so no doubt they want rid of EEL . Wilder won't have his trouser leg lifted but bottom line do we really need him . Can see transfer listed Brayford playing a part if fit .

Really surprised about this, joining MK Dons.

He seemed really good before he signed his new Wolves contract, then it was like (in some matches) he couldn't be bothered. Many would say this is the modern footballer in a nutshell.

He'd only be backup Centre Half if we signed him, so maybe he wants guaranteed first team action. He probably needs it

Yep, as other's have mentioned he was great when he came in, just what the club needed...but then trailed off after he got his contract...hopefully we'll hear some news on a new CB soonish...

Many would also say it was because he was carrying an injury, like Wilder said at the time.

You can't wish anything other than the best of luck for the EEL- his arrival was the immediate shot in the arm to get us going. Not a particularly good passer but he was tremendous for us those first few games. Gave us a solid backing that meant others good feel at ease.

Wouldn't sign him not good enough for Chump Leauge but by heck THANKS EEL you are one of the main reasons we are UP.

Under Adkins our big weakness was dealing with crosses into the box.
Also due to a lack of communication our defence wasn't commanding enough.

When we brought in EEL and Simon Moore our defence was virtually transformed overnight.
All of a sudden the panic had gone and we looked very comfortable dealing with crosses.
Our big weakness had all but dissappeared thanks to EEL, who was turning into a cult hero.

Word got round and opposition managers realised they were wasting their time pumping in corners and crosses into our box.
So they played it on the floor more and we then realised that EEL struggled with quick tricky small players.

It's a shame because he DOES have potential and still worth a gamble if the price was right.

He's great at dealing with industrial lower league football and commands his box (like a big oil tanker).
But any strikers that have good movement, intelligence and quick feet then EEL looks a bit of a novice
And he's always liable to give away penalties because at times he moves and thinks like an oil tanker.

The EEL situation is a brilliant example of the football business and many Blades now need to eat humble pie. After 2 months at the club he was the new Chris Morgan. Many Blades were insisting we offer Wolves £500K and make him our highest paid player because he was a future Blades captain and could lead us to the PL,

It's not like our fans to jump the gun and over react.
That's why I'm not getting too excited about Brookes, talented yes, but done nothing yet.

Sadly, just the one 'like'.

Plenty were saying "pay whatever it takes".

Far from it. The 'measured' posts on the Kyle's £6m thread have already spent the money several times over with not the slightest thought that big fees mean big ongoing wage commitments.

It's only money, innit?

thank goodness he's gone to a L1 club - we have got out of jail with that one.
CW & AK strike again - going about their business in a way that I haven't seen at this club in a long long time.
They saw through his weaknesses and know we can do better.

Oh my goodness - do we have a really special pair of footballing geniuses here?

Glad we are not signing him, he's league one standard at the moment.Hopefully, with the extra money coming in, we will get that lad from Blackburn, and Leonard.

Being shot in the foot is preferable to spending time in Wolverhampton.

having worked in the majority of cities/towns in my IT life - I'd put Hull and Wolverhampton well top for the worst place in the country. It really is a toss up as to which is worse. I doubt Hull being city of culture will change much either.

Hull City centre, yes it's pretty dismal. I quite like the marina bit though. Other than that I'm struggling to get the "culture" bit. I assume it's only for a year? It's taken them 7 months to sort out a Bus Tour around these apparent culture bits, I mean why bother?

The only thing I'd like to tour Wolverhampton with is a B52 and put it out of it's misery.

Could you divert to Coventry whilst doing Wolverhampton.

It's not very far ;)

Bradford by far the worst to me and I've worked over all of Yorkshire and know the midlands, Greater Manchester, North East reasonably well. I've never been to Wolverhampton though. But this never bothers footballers as they always live ion the nice villages or suburbs on the outskirts.

Only ever driven through Bradford when on the way to the Dales, never really looks like a place I'd bother stopping if I'm honest. Stadium looks quite striking up on the hill though.

Valley Parade is like a really, really crap version of St James PArk Newcastle. Both stadiums are inbalanced but St Jame's lower section - including the Gallowgate - is still impressive where as Valley Parades newer higher section makes the lower, older crapper sections just look totally out of place!

St James does look fantastic, pity they have a Gobshite running the show up there.

Only ever spent a day in Bradford and it was better than I expected tbf. Can't be worse than Scunny surely?

Bradford has some stunning architecture and could, with some investment and vision, be a beautiful city. A bit like a small lump of rock in orbit round a plant however, I suspect the gravity of L**ds will not allow it to coalesce into such.

Totally right. It has got some great architecture but seems to have been totally neglected in terms of fiance/improvements which Leeds and Sheffield has had. Bradford isn't helped by been next to Leeds for sure, but that's not to say I like Leeds! Leeds people think its the capital of the North! Bull!

Worked there for 8 months and got to know it. My great granddad moved there (from Chile) and my granddad lived there but I still have to say its a dump!

A Bradford fan once said of Valley Parade

'It's a fine stadium.
2 sides are arguably Premier standard but unfortunately the other 2 sides are arguably league 2 standard"
