Although I do fancy us to beat Wigan on Friday, you can't ignore these recent results...

Hudds (24th) 4 - 2 Boro (3rd)
FGR (24th) 1 - 0 Pigs (1st)

Blades (2nd) v Wigan (24th)

If we do win then it won't be a thrashing and likely to be only 1 goal in it

On the plus side, Burnley don't seem to lose games and Luton are not nailed on for a victory at Millwall but they have a better chance than Boro IMO.

Over this weekend, we only need to match the points tally of Boro and Luton.

Boro v Burnley - Draw (Boro have to go for this and this will leave them wide open. Burnely won't sit back so it will be very open and end to end - it could go either way)
Milwall v Luton - Draw
Blades v Wigan - Win

Luton v Blackpool - Win
Brizzle v Boro - Draw
Burnley v Blades - Draw

Can't see Boro getting more than 4 points, but Luton could get 6.

Squeaky bum time indeedy.

We have 5 homes left and 3 away games.

I reckon 5 wins (maybe even 4 will do) is all that's needed to guarantee promotion.
Win all the remaining home games means we can even afford to lose all the away games.

Promotion is so near now....I can smell it.....but we need to focus on Wigan and not be over confident or nervous.

Nailed on that we balls it up on Friday now.

Miss loads of chances first half after dominating. Wigan score with their first attempt on goal. Hecky panics and brings Basham on for Ndiaye on the 87th minute to change the game.

I know that’s very negative, but there’s bound to be a couple more twists and turns yet.

Think the harder game of the two will be Friday.
Wigan Athletic on a three game unbeaten run, have to win to try and pull clear of the bottom three.
Burnley, guaranteed promotion, may already be promoted. The 5-2 showed there's little to fear
if we play to those standards.

Burnley don’t strike me as a team that knows how to ease off.. but that may well suit us.

We’re already ahead of were we could be imo. Boro losing and us winning at Norwich was absolutely best case scenario but also understandably viewed as unlikely before the game.

There was a real possibility that we could have been third after the easter weekend, however, we’ve ended up in the best possible position leading up to it.

4 points from this weekend will be an absolutely superb return. The fact us and Boro play Burnley a matter of days apart is also quite interesting. For us, anything from Turf Moor is a bit of a bonus, whereas Boro have to go there and really cant afford to lose, especially if we do the business earlier in the day.

YES. Your final point. Spot on.

We've got our mojo back, as we did after the last time we had a wobble. It was noticeable against Norwich how relatively calm and in control the players looked again. They need to show that same composure at home and dictate the play.

If we turn up, I am confident we win this. Then it's over to Boro.

Thought the same. and it was telling that Baldock mentioned the intensity and aggression in his post match interview.

TBF if there is one player in the squad that's going to mention intensity and aggression, it's probably going to be out most intense and aggressive player

We all know Boro, Luton, Blackburn, and to a lesser extent Millwall assumed we were going to blow it Hecky and the players will be more determined to go up automatically. we are playing great now. Hecky is correct not worried about the team chasing us just keep picking points up. the pressure is on boro and Luton.

No need to panic - Hudders were 22nd when they played Boro, not 24th. We'll be fine.

Interesting thread and it shows what football does to people when I can see the nerves we all have as supporters. I totally understand why you’re questioning things as even at 3-0 up against Blackpool on Saturday I was clock watching which is bonkers as anyone watching the game who wasn’t a fan, would know it was done and dusted. You’ll be fine and IMO it won’t go near the last game.

Boro have had a great run of results until the weekend but they’ve got a much tougher run in than you guys. I wouldn’t be surprised if they actually remain in this division as the pressure that is being built up by the media will be right on them in the playoffs.

Burnley and possibly West Brom aside, you’ve not much to worry about in your remaining fixtures.
Wigans results initially improved after Maloney came in, but they’re down there because they are very poor. Same goes for Cardiff, Huddersfield have improved but I don’t think it’ll go that far and Birmingham who you play last are also very week. In between all that you’ve got us and Bristol, both could do something but it’s very doubtful.

I just looked and Paddy Power Bookies have you at 1/25 for a top 2 finish, enjoy it guys 👍

They have one win in nine, which was 1-0 against a QPR team in complete meltdown?
Also unbeaten in 3. Guess it’s which way you want to look at it? Draws against Blackburn, Norwich & Wigan away shows they can make it difficult.
