Yesterday it seemed that we decided to preserve what he had when we were 2-0 up. I think this is a little change in style, not sure if it’s intentional or not but we certainly took our foot off the pedal, trying to be less expansive and with a lone striker and brooks deeper behind him, it shows that we’re maturing.

We saw it with Boro and I think it can be a dangerous game when the opposition get a goal, we then resorted to longer balls as well which didn’t help, but it was going to take a lot for reading to score again

This division seems to play like this, consolidate a bit when you’re ahead because you’ve worked hard to get ahead. I actually thought that we could’ve buried reading yesterday but it’s a long season and three more vital points towards the 101 target

No doubt about it, this side is replicating last season with absolute quality

If the Sharp header had gone in Swiss to make it 3-0 I think we would have gone on to score again. But another 3 points in the onion bag and we move on to the dirties on Friday night.

I’ve posted on Deadbats report one minor criticism is that we aren’t putting teams to bed in first half when we have been dominant - Barnsley Wolves Pigs And Reading we should have been 3 up given all our possession, and made for less nervy endings.

Don’t think owt has changed it’s simply impossible to keep up that high energy intensity for 90 mins.

CW says the lads got a bit tired

I think the answer is that they need to start having three shredded wheat for breakfast instead of two :)

I think it turned a bit when Duffy went off because Brooks wasn't really tracking back as much. It might have been a time when Carruthers would have been a better bet in the Duffy role, but I say that with the benefit of hindsight and to be fair it's difficult to see how you can't get Brooks on at some point in the game.

Think Brooks came on after Reading had changed personnel to 3 who worked far better for Reading and got them out of the vice like grip we had. But they only managed to get over halfway .Still unable to threaten our goal. But Brooks needs to learn tracking back and defensive duties
To become a complete shoe in for a starting place

Me too. Carruthers for Duffy and Brooks for Billy

They changed formation and started winning the midfield battle which put us under pressure for the last 15 minutes. We still restricted them to few shots though and if Jack clears his lines properly then I think it would have stayed 2-0.

You could argue that a younger/fitter/quicker striker would have done better than Leon with the through balls and that Donaldson would have finished the 1 on 1 with the keeper as he did against the Mackems....
But I'm still happy with another 3 points even though I feel we gifted them their goal!
