seeing lots of people saying we should put JOC and Bash both back into the starting 11. However after how well cranie has played in each of the games how can you justify dropping him?
Chris wilder has always said he’s a big believer of having to earn a shirt and surely Cranie has done that.
What sort of message does it send to the rest of the squad if having played out of your skin for 3/4 games you get dropped as soon as one of the regulars is back fit.
Personally I’d go cranie Egan JOC Monday but ho hey that’s just me.

Just shows how far the squad has come since we came up, a lot of tough decisions for the lineup to be made tomorrow... Defensively and moving up the pitch; Duffy, Dowell or Both? 1 or 2 strikers and even then you have 4/5 to pick from.

Glad I’m not the manager that’s for sure.

I know what you’re saying but on the flip side of that, how can you not bring Basham back in, one of the most consistent players we’ve had all season? What must he then think after all the efforts he’s put in this season to then miss out tomorrow night?

It's a fair point wiz. Myself I'm prone to go with a starting eleven of your strongest team, but as valid a decision is to play those in form. To quote our manager, it's about loyalty, not sentimentality, so whatever a player has done, they may have to wait. Having said that, there are players that simply rise above the rules of convention, and in this case I'd rule in JOC's favour. The exceptional thing about this 'problem' is that we now have a squad of quality and depth, something that tomorrow night's opponents can only wish for.

Whichever side Wilder starts with, we're in good hands, and motivation isn't going to be a problem. UTMB

You don’t leave Bash out of a derby match in my view.
Bash has had a great season and fully deserves the shirt, key player for us

If a player has lost his place due to a suspension or injury, not loss of form/bad performances he should either get his place back immediately (short term injury or suspension) or if it was longer term be given at least the opportunity.

The first applies to JOC and Bash, they should both be given a starting berth.

By your own standards then why does JOC walk straight back in when Stevens and Johnson have done fine in the last three games?

Bruce is well known for having no plan b. I'd say 25 minutes in Wilder will shake things up and baffle the pie bellied cunt. I think the line up may look a bit dodgy initially but itll be with that in mind.
They're relying on their players seeing them through. Well have plans a, b and c. Pie belly is awful tactically.

I'm erring on the side of bring back Bash, JOC and Duffy to face Wendy and go with Cranie, Dowell and Johnson again for the Millers match.

Go with the same side against Brenford as the Millers line up and then back to the Wendy selection to face Leeds.

Keeps them all happy

I'd start with Dowell, for his ability to run with the ball and skip challenges
Passing it accurately might be a problem early on with wild tackles and pressing.

Dowell can find a bit of space and just run with the ball, when he tires we introduce Duffy

Bash and Cranie are of a similar standard. Do you think the same about O'Connell and Johnson?

Just pick the best team.

It’s really that simple. I was about to put it myself before I saw you had.

This isn’t Sunday league where everyone has to get a game. They’re highly paid professionals who are there to do a job. Stearman scored the winner and was excellent vs Boro, then was back on the bench.

The best team plays and whilst I think Cranie has done well, he is not one of our three best defenders.

It's not like Cranie would've been under any false pretenses when he signed. He was brought in as back up and he's done a fine job of it. If the players want to take a message from who the manager picks then it's that he picks his strongest team.

If Cranie can't handle being dropped (assuming he will be) then he's not the professional he's been made out to be.

because personally think Johnson is absolutely miles off Stevens at lwb, defensively he’s terrible

Team choice should be a combination of recent good form and derby experience in my opinion. Bash is a must start based on his passion and experience. Let him run ragged then sub him. Id also pick freeman ahead of baldock.
Dowell will start with clear instructions to play his arse off in an hour then bring duff on.
Billy and Madine up top with didsy on for Madine after 70, depending on score
