Early Derby Day Predictions

As always, doesn't matter what the league positions are I'll go for a score draw, derby games do seem to be a nervous and tense affair both on and off the pitch.
 

There fucking shit let's not kid ourselves there awful. They have players missing defensive injuries there manager is leaving at the end of the season. 3-0 blades I have no doubt we tank them.
 
I can't see them parking the bus to be honest but my fear is what mindset will wilder have?
 
Wednesday will be absolutely desperate to avoid the double, and will no doubt relish the opportunity to dent our promotion hopes. I know they've got some major defensive injuries at the minute, so much so that Max Lowe has been playing as a centre back in a back 4 (he's now injured too), but we are far from free scoring. Given all this and the history in recent derbies 0-0 seems to be a fair bet.

Couple of big chances to get wins on the board first though. If they still have CB issues and are playing Lowe at CB, it could be a game for Moore, he'd happily bully Max Lowe.
 
Wendy will be fired up for some sort of revenge as they took the celebrations and Wilders songs badly, also in addition there's a very strong rumour going round that "sausage" (cheers,Chris) is leaving to manage Southampton when they return to the championship, so he'll want to give the fans something back before he shits on them.

We know they'll want to put one on us but we need to be singing again at the final whistle, and if we hit top form that day, we should be laughing once more in thier faces with a comfortable margin.

Love it to be a high scoring win for us.. don't wanna jinx it with a prediction.

Why would it be a comfortable margin when we only scraped a 1-0 at HOME scoring with our only clear chance?

Also, comfortable margin for us is 2 at most, it can't go beyond that

Blades 5-1 The Wednesday in 1934 too

Biggest away win is ours: 2-4 in 2019

There have been 115 League derbies. Only 8 have been decided by 3+ goals; 5 by 3 goals (they lead 3-2 on those) and 3 by 4 goals (we lead 2-1). Of course, Wednesday also lead 2-0 on 0-0 wins.

Because I've written if we hit top form..

It's my opinion, that this season, we haven't played up to the capability of the quality of the team, we on most occasions have "just done enough" but with the players we have, somebody at some point is gonna get a pasting...

Let's hope it's them

Ps, we're all different, some more positive than others..

I agree. It's just very hopeful that we'll batter anybody. There's zero sign of it. It's even more hopeful that we'll batter Wednesday - both sides will ensure that it's tight. We could play great for 25 mins, go 2-0 up, then we'd sit back and hang on

We won't score 4 in a game all season. We might manage one more 3 goal rampage. Be funny if it was Burnley away
 
I was doing some back of fag packet calculations earlier today and I reckon they need at least 20 points from 11 games to have a chance of the play offs. That's a tall order with a fed up manager who already had 1 foot out of the door, a depleted defence and only a few decent players in the whole squad. But as William points out they do have quite a favourable run in. I didn't think the spozzy get would overturn the Posh first leg lead, yet they did.

As for the derby, Wilder will have our lot even more fired up than they are. It means the world to him and there is no better chance to rub in our superiority and bring back memories of the last time we showed them up at home. I don't feel confident in predicting the score, but I think we will win.

I have similar thoughts .

A month ago I had severe doubts about our prospects in this contest , but since then they have demonstrated their shortcomings and am pretty confident we can exploit these .

To do so however , we might need another hero in the Bobby Davison / Mark Duffy mould and I have a sneaking feeling that on this occasion it could be BBD .
